ux-coaching

ux-coaching is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/hve-core. It costs 49 tokens per session (1,552 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A coaching guide for UX practitioners working through problem framing, design critique, or stakeholder discussions. UX, or user experience, is the practice of designing products around people's needs and behavior.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define the real problem, run a critique of a design or user flow, or build an evidence-backed case for a skeptical stakeholder.
Why use it?
It helps practitioners reason through a live situation using questions and evidence instead of simply receiving a suggested answer. It also makes clear what is known and what remains unresolved.

About the project

HVE Core is a collection of agents, prompts, coding instructions, and skills for building repeatable software-development workflows with GitHub Copilot. It is intended for individuals and teams that want structured AI-assisted research, planning, implementation, and review, while the catalogue entries provide many of its reusable workflow components.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00049 $0.01552
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00776
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00310
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00155

Security

Grade A, and why

ux-coaching scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

UX Coaching

Coach one UX practice moment at a time through questions, evidence, and the practitioner's own judgment.

Goal

Help a practitioner reach their own well-grounded outcome in one of three moments, then stop. The practitioner leaves with a named, evidence-labelled result they can act on and defend, plus an honest record of what remains unresolved.

Each moment is entered directly. No prior moment, workshop, or facilitated session is required.

Moments

Load one reference at a time, matching the practitioner's current moment. When the practitioner asks to switch moments, close or park the current instance first, then load the next in the same session.

Moment Practitioner situation Reference
problem-framing Deciding what the problem actually is, often when a solution has already been proposed references/problem-framing.md
critique Running a critique of a design, flow, or artifact with other people references/critique.md
stakeholder-advocacy Making an evidence-backed case to someone who is unconvinced references/stakeholder-advocacy.md

Do not load a moment reference the practitioner did not select. Do not load more than one at a time.

The three moments are independent entry points, not an ordering or a prerequisite chain.

Coaching authority

Conversational behavior comes from references/coaching-patterns.md, which supplies Think/Speak/Empower, one focused question per turn, scope assessment, laddering, critical-incident anchoring, projective techniques, progressive guidance levels 1 to 4, evidence and assumption discipline, and psychological safety. That reference governs how each turn is conducted. This skill supplies what each moment explores, produces, and refuses to claim.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
