add-dataverse

add-dataverse is a skill for Claude Code from microsoft/managed-apps. It costs 38 tokens per session (282 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A small connector-specific instruction that routes Dataverse table integrations through a shared connector workflow. Dataverse is Microsoft's cloud data platform for business tables and applications.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when binding Dataverse tables, providing the relevant table names to the shared connector process.
Why use it?
It keeps Dataverse setup on the common integration path and asks for table names when they are missing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.00282
Opus 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00113
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Security

Grade A, and why

add-dataverse scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

📋 Shared Instructions: shared-instructions.md — Cross-cutting concerns.

Add Dataverse (Wrapper)

This skill is a thin wrapper. Use /add-data-source as the single implementation path.

Delegation contract

Invoke /add-data-source with:

  • api-id: shared_commondataserviceforapps
  • mode: table for a fixed, existing table. Use action when users choose the organization URL or entity-set name inside the app.
  • Pass through known table logical names, connection-id, and dataverse-environment-id.

In table mode, ask for missing table logical names before delegation. A logical name identifies the table, such as account. In action mode, do not ask for a fixed table. The entity-set name identifies the API collection, such as accounts. This skill binds existing tables. Do not create tables.

Use the exact connector ID. Both connectors have the display name "Microsoft Dataverse". Do not substitute the older shared_commondataservice connector unless the user explicitly requests it.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
