ingest-web-chat

ingest-web-chat is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from micuintus/llm-wiki. It costs 86 tokens per session (487 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool that imports one web-based conversation from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Le Chat into a wiki as Markdown, with messages separated by speaker. It uses a real Chrome session so enterprise sign-in can work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to ingest a chat from a URL into raw conversation files, then use those files as sources for wiki pages.
Why use it?
It preserves conversations in a wiki without requiring manual copying and formatting.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00086 $0.00487
Opus 5 $0.00043 $0.00244
Sonnet 5 $0.00017 $0.00097
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00049

Measured 6d ago against content hash 9e30d9867e4c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ingest-web-chat scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (ingest.ts, providers/_fallback.ts, providers/claude.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ingest-web-chat

URL → role-segmented markdown in raw-sources/conversations/. Compile into wiki pages from there using the parent skill.

Setup (one-time)

Launch a dedicated Chrome and sign into each provider once:

"/Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome" \
  --remote-debugging-port=9222 \
  --user-data-dir="$HOME/.chrome-llm-wiki"

Leave it running while ingesting. Profile persists across sessions.

Usage

tsx ingest.ts <chat-url> [--out <project-with-llm-wiki>]

--out defaults to cwd; the script walks upward to find llm-wiki/SCHEMA.md. Override CDP endpoint via LLM_WIKI_CDP (default http://localhost:9222).

Providers

Host Module Status
claude.ai providers/claude.ts role-segmented
gemini.google.com providers/gemini.ts role-segmented
anything else _fallback.ts bulk HTML → Turndown

Selectors lifted from MIT-licensed revivalstack/ai-chat-exporter. To add a provider: copy providers/claude.ts, swap the selectors, wire into pickProvider() in ingest.ts.

Why CDP and not Playwright-launched Chromium

Cloudflare Turnstile (Claude.ai's gate) blocks Playwright's bundled Chromium and channel: "chrome" and stealth-patched rebrowser-playwright. Connecting to a user-launched real Chrome via --remote-debugging-port is the only path that reliably gets through and preserves enterprise SSO/device-trust.

Files

What ships with it

8 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
