Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00073 $0.01403
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00701
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00281
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00140

Security

Grade A, and why

mike-convex-thumbnail scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/check-local-assets.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Mike Convex Thumbnail

Create polished YouTube thumbnails for Mike's Convex/dev videos using the image model, Mike's local cutout photos, and local Convex brand assets.

When to Use

  • Creating YouTube thumbnail options for a Convex or developer video.
  • Reworking the Convex static hosting "NO DASHBOARDS" thumbnail.
  • Making a thumbnail that must include Mike's recognizable head-and-shoulders portrait.
  • Replacing an incorrect generated mark with the real Convex logo or symbol.

When Not to Use

  • Generic thumbnail advice with no image generation requested.
  • Non-Convex videos unless Mike explicitly wants the same personal thumbnail style.
  • Deterministic compositing in code, unless Mike explicitly asks for a manual layout. The manual collage route looked bad for this style.

Core Workflow

  1. Inspect the available local references before prompting the image model:
    • Run bash scripts/check-local-assets.sh from this skill. It discovers the Google Drive account folder and prints absolute paths for the photo and brand assets.
    • Use view_image on at least one Mike headshot and the Convex symbol before calling the image model.
  2. If the user provided a script, Notion page, or video brief, extract the main hook first. Keep the thumbnail concept simple enough to read at feed size.
  3. Use the image model for the thumbnail. Do not build the main image by manually pasting cutouts and cards together unless the user asks for that.
  4. Keep text short. Prefer one strong phrase such as NO DASHBOARDS, HOST ON CONVEX, STATIC APP LIVE, or SKIP HOSTING.
  5. Prompt for Mike as a large recognizable head-and-shoulders portrait, not a full-body figure.
  6. Prompt the Convex logo as a brand reference. If a generated logo is wrong, explicitly say to replace any cube or hexagon mark with the official Convex swirl symbol.
  7. Return 3 to 5 visually distinct options when brainstorming. If Mike points at one option, iterate that option instead of restarting the set.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
