threejs-interaction-systems

threejs-interaction-systems is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mintdotgg/mint-threejs-skills. It costs 38 tokens per session (313 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for building user interactions in Three.js, a JavaScript library for web-based 3D graphics. It covers cameras, controls, selecting objects, manipulating them, annotations, configuration screens, loading states, responsive input, and accessibility.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build camera movement, object picking, selection, editing, annotations, navigation, playback, configurators, and responsive 3D interfaces.
Why use it?
It helps keep 3D interactions predictable across mouse, keyboard, and touch input. It also keeps important actions available through ordinary web controls.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.00313
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00063
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

threejs-interaction-systems scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Three.js Interaction Systems

Make 3D interaction predictable, state-driven, responsive, and accessible.

Read references/interaction-patterns.md before changing camera controls, selection, manipulation, configuration, annotations, or general app UI. For model axes, authoritative transforms, constrained manipulation, or surface queries, also read ../../references/spatial-contracts.md.

Workflow

  1. Define the primary user task and supported input methods.
  2. Choose one camera/control owner and explicit transition rules.
  3. Keep application state outside transient Three.js object state.
  4. Implement raycast or GPU picking only at interaction boundaries, with clear hover, focus, selected, disabled, and error feedback.
  5. Add manipulation, configuration, annotations, playback, or navigation as task-specific modules.
  6. Keep semantic HTML controls available for important actions and status.
  7. Verify pointer, keyboard, touch, resize, cancellation, and loading/error paths on relevant viewports.

Use ../../references/mint-mcp-assets.md for generated production assets. Ordinary interface chrome should remain HTML/CSS/SVG/Canvas unless a true 3D surface is required.

Final Response

Report the interaction model, controls, state ownership, supported input paths, responsive/accessibility evidence, screenshots, and remaining risks.

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
