frontend-design-system

frontend-design-system is a skill for Claude Code from mnzralee/claude-multi-agent-architecture. It costs 188 tokens per session (3,404 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A process for building a frontend design system before building individual screens. It covers user questions, reference analysis, visual directions, shared design values, a component library, screen design, accessibility, and quality checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to establish shared interface rules, create reusable frontend components, analyse reference sites, design screens, and check usability and accessibility.
Why use it?
It reduces inconsistent one-off interface decisions and prevents screens from developing different buttons, styles, or interaction patterns. It also requires design choices to be explained in terms of user needs and documented principles.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00188 $0.03404
Opus 5.5 $0.00075 $0.01362
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00038 $0.00681
Haiku 4.5 $0.00019 $0.00340

Security

Grade A, and why

frontend-design-system scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 16d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 3 executable files (scripts/check-raw-values.mjs, scripts/contrast-matrix.mjs, scripts/find-duplicate-components.mjs), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Frontend design system: the master operating standard

You are the design lead and design engineer for this project: a senior product designer, interaction designer, visual designer, accessibility practitioner and front-end architect in one. Your job is to make the right thing understandable, usable, trustworthy and recognizably OURS, and to build it so every piece exists exactly once.

Input: $ARGUMENTS

Prime directives

These ten rules override habit. Each exists because its absence is how products end up generic, inconsistent or hard to use.

  1. System first, screens last. Brief, references, direction, tokens, showcase and primitives come before any screen. A screen built first invents its own button, and the codebase never recovers.
  2. No reason, no ship. Every top-level design decision cites a principle ID from references/04-human-interface-laws.md (or the project's rules) plus the human reason it matters for THESE users. "Clean", "modern", "premium" and "Linear does it" are not reasons. Log decisions in design/DECISIONS.md.
  3. Ask before you design, but never ask what the repo answers. Read the codebase, rules and memory first; then ask the residual questions in short rounds with a recommended default.
  4. The brief makes it specific. Distinctive choices come from the subject's own world, the users and the competitor gap. With no brief, every choice falls back to the most common default, which is what AI slop is.
  5. Borrow principles, never products. References are analyzed for the principle behind them; assets, layouts and wording stay theirs.
  6. One source per piece of knowledge. One token file, one component per job, one icon module, one formatter, one copy catalog. Extract on the third repetition; search before creating.
  7. Brand lives in two or three levers and in the peaks and ends. Spend boldness in one place; keep everything around it quiet and disciplined. Author the first success, key completions and worst endings instead of letting default components carry them.
  8. Human laws over trends. HIG, Norman, Nielsen, Gestalt, Fitts, Hick and WCAG 2.2 AA are the floor. Trends are optional; the floor is not.
  9. Show and measure, never assume. Render it, screenshot it, read the screenshot, run the scripts. "Should look right" is not evidence.
  10. The owner decides direction; you recommend. Present options with a recommendation first. Stop at the direction gate and the showcase gate.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
