tcx-news

tcx-news is a skill for Codex from monarchjuno/tradingcodex. It costs 34 tokens per session (377 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A research guide for reviewing financial and market news, company filings, events, policy changes, and management comments. It separates confirmed facts from interpretations and records the evidence and timeline.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build event timelines, assess source quality and freshness, summarize changes in market narratives, compare scenarios, and identify unanswered questions or future triggers.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of treating rumors, old information, or a single report as established fact when assessing market developments.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.00377
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00188
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00038

Measured 7d ago against content hash a52b5e243b3e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

tcx-news scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

News Analysis

Use this skill for news, filings, events, policy, macro, management commentary, market narrative, and source-quality review across supported investment universes.

Universe method:

  • Public equity: use issuer filings, exchange/regulator records, earnings materials, transcripts, company news, sector/peer read-throughs, and market events.
  • Crypto, macro, rates, FX, commodities, ETF/index, and credit-signal workflows need universe-specific sources and event taxonomies; label any missing route or unavailable connector honestly.
  • Separate confirmed dates from inferred windows and unscheduled monitoring items.
  • Treat rumors, social narratives, and single-source reports as unresolved evidence unless independently confirmed.

Expected output:

  • Universe and event taxonomy
  • Verified events
  • Source list
  • Timeline
  • Market narrative change
  • Fact versus inference separation
  • Open questions
  • Source/as-of posture and missing or stale event evidence

Decision quality fields when applicable:

  • evidence_grade, source_freshness, source_quality
  • conflict_status, decision_readiness, confidence
  • scenario_cases, contrary_evidence, update_triggers
  • invalidation_conditions and forecast permission fields when relevant

Role-specific quality:

  • Put events in chronological order with dates.
  • Separate source claims from analyst interpretation.
  • Flag rumors, single-source claims, and stale events.
  • State whether each event changes thesis, timing, valuation, risk, liquidity, policy, or only background context.
  • Do not fabricate headlines, publication dates, filing dates, source claims, or retrieval timestamps.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
