Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00054 | $0.00596 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00027 | $0.00298 |

Grade A, and why
defuddle scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 81 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Defuddle
Use Defuddle CLI to extract clean readable content from web pages. Prefer over WebFetch for standard web pages — it removes navigation, ads, and clutter, reducing token usage.
Preferred Tool Order
- Use Defuddle for standard article-style pages where clean markdown extraction is the main goal.
- Use
fetchwhen Defuddle is unavailable, the page is not article-like, or raw retrieval is preferable. - Use
imagefetchwhen the task depends on understanding page images as well as text.
Availability Check
Before using Defuddle, verify the CLI is installed:
defuddle --help
- Exit code
0: Defuddle is available. - Non-zero or command-not-found: Defuddle is unavailable. Use the fallback strategy below.
If Defuddle is unavailable, the page is not a standard article page, or you need raw page retrieval rather than article extraction, fall back to the fetch MCP when it is available. If the task depends on understanding page images, prefer imagefetch over plain fetch.
If not installed: npm install -g defuddle
Fallback Strategy
- Use
fetchfor raw or general page retrieval when Defuddle is unavailable. - Use
imagefetchinstead of plainfetchwhen page imagery is part of the task. - If the page is highly interactive rather than article-like, switch to a browser-oriented tool instead of forcing Defuddle.
No-Tool Behavior
If neither Defuddle nor the documented MCP fallback is available, say that clean page extraction is unavailable in the current runtime.
- Ask the user for the source URL or page content if a manual path is still viable.
- Do not describe the extraction as complete when the tool path was missing.
Usage
Always use --md for markdown output:
defuddle parse <url> --md
Save to file:
defuddle parse <url> --md -o content.md
Extract specific metadata:
defuddle parse <url> -p title
defuddle parse <url> -p description
defuddle parse <url> -p domain
Output formats
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

defuddle is a skill published in the GitHub repository monkey1wizard/Golem-Agents-Legion (15 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 54 tokens to every session and 596 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
