shot-specifier

shot-specifier is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from MoonTzai/folderbridge-mcp. It costs 0 tokens per session (381 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A shot-planning procedure that turns one approved storyboard section into specific camera shots. Each shot defines what must be visible, how action changes the scene, and how it connects to the next shot.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to specify subjects, environments, framing, camera movement, blocking, start and end states, transitions, and acceptance checks for video shots.
Why use it?
It prevents camera movement and composition from becoming decoration or introducing story claims that were not approved. It makes the intended cause and result clear.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00381
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00152
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00076
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00038

Security

Grade A, and why

shot-specifier scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Shot Specifier

Turn an approved storyboard unit into camera-executable shots. Do not add new story claims.

Required fields per shot

  • shot ID and time range;
  • semantic job: one dominant thing this shot must make visible;
  • subject and environment;
  • start composition and spatial state;
  • blocking/action direction;
  • camera scale, angle and movement only when purposeful;
  • visible cause -> transformation -> result;
  • end composition/state;
  • handoff to the next shot;
  • acceptance evidence and forbidden failure modes.

Camera discipline

Choose the simplest camera grammar that reveals the intended relation.

  • Establish space before asking the viewer to compare parts of it.
  • Use push-in when detail/depth is the new information.
  • Use pull-back when the larger distribution/context is the new information.
  • Use orbit/rotation when viewpoint itself is the concept.
  • Use lateral move when comparing neighboring regions in one stable space.
  • Use motivated cut when the narration changes conceptual layer or example.
  • Do not use movement as decoration. A moving camera with no information gain is noise.

Blocking and causality

Resolve complex motion as: subject -> start position -> direction -> interaction/connection -> visible result -> end position/state.

Do not hide missing mechanics behind “then”, “suddenly”, “transforms” or “becomes”. If a model cannot physically execute the chain in one shot, split it.

Start/end frame strategy

Use a locked first frame when a shot must inherit exact space/identity/composition. Use a locked last frame only when the destination state is important enough to justify constraining motion. Do not force FL2V on every shot; over-anchoring can produce mechanical interpolation.

Explanatory-film rule

A shot is accepted only if a muted viewer could point to the visible evidence that corresponds to the narration. Beautiful atmosphere without explanatory evidence fails.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

shot-specifier is a skill published in the GitHub repository MoonTzai/folderbridge-mcp (2 stars, last pushed 25d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 381 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-08.
