Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00136 | $0.02335 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00054 | $0.00934 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00027 | $0.00467 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00014 | $0.00233 |
Grade A, and why
gemini-music scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 130 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Gemini Music (Lyria)
Quick start
- Describe the music: genre, mood, instrumentation, tempo, key, production style, and what it is for.
- Call
gemini-media:generate_musicwithprompt(default modelclip: a 30-second MP3). Addinstrumental: truefor beds under speech or video. - The result has
file.path/file.uriand usuallylyrics: the lyrics or section structure the model produced. Use that text to check what you got. - Iterate by changing the prompt and generating again, then move to
fullfor a complete song.
Tools
The tools live on the gemini-media MCP server. Harnesses name MCP tools differently (mcp__gemini-media__generate_music, gemini-media.generate_music, or plain generate_music); match on the part after the server name. This skill writes them as gemini-media:<tool>.
| Tool | Use it to |
|---|---|
gemini-media:generate_music |
Compose a clip or a full song from text, optional lyrics and up to 10 inspiration images |
gemini-media:estimate_cost |
Price a batch (mediaType: "music", model, count) |
gemini-media:list_models |
Current music models, prices and formats |
gemini-media:get_usage |
Spend so far and budget remaining |
Models at a glance
| Alias | Choose it for | Output |
|---|---|---|
clip (default) |
Exploring ideas, jingles, stingers, loops, short social beds | Always 30 s, MP3 |
full |
Complete songs with verses, choruses, vocals and lyrics; long beds | Up to about 3 min, MP3 or WAV (44.1 kHz stereo) |
full maps to Lyria 3.5 on the Gemini API; on Vertex AI the server falls back to the previous full-song model (MP3 only) and says so in warnings. Prices change: check gemini-media:list_models (mediaType: "music") or gemini-media:estimate_cost rather than quoting from memory.
Parameters that matter
| Parameter | Guidance |
|---|---|
prompt |
The musical brief, plus structure tags or timestamps (below). |

true for no vocals (appends "Instrumental only, no vocals" to the prompt). |
bpm |
Tempo hint, added to the prompt. |
durationSeconds |
Length hint for full only; clip is always 30 s and ignores it (with a warning). |
images |
Up to 10 images whose mood or scene should inspire the music (paths or gemini-media:// URIs). |
format |
mp3 (default) or wav (full on the Gemini API only). |
outputName |
Readable file name, e.g. podcast-intro-v3. |
What ships with it
3 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

gemini-music is a skill published in the GitHub repository mordor-forge/gemini-media-mcp (9 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 136 tokens to every session and 2,335 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-08.
