commit

commit is a skill for Claude Code from motlin/claude-code-plugins. It costs 20 tokens per session (285 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Git workflow for committing local code changes with careful file selection and a single-line commit message.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect the repository, stage only task-related files, create normal or fixup commits, and follow the project's commit-message rules.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of including unrelated edits in a commit and keeps commit messages consistent and concise.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00020 $0.00285
Opus 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00114
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00057
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00028

Measured 22d ago against content hash 94e0a4c6ec47, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

commit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Commit

Use the code:cli and git:git-workflow skills.

Inspect Context

git status
git diff --cached
git diff
git branch --show-current
git log --oneline -10

Stage Files

Stage only the files modified for the current task, individually:

git add <file1> <file2>

Never use git add ., git add -A, git commit -am, or anything else that stages unrelated changes.

Commit Message

If the user pasted a compiler or linter error, or the task is explicitly a fixup for a known commit, use git commit --fixup <sha>.

Otherwise write one line following the format in git:git-workflow. The prompt is the intent, not the message text: borrow its language, but distill a long or multi-line prompt to one line.

Echo exactly:

Running: `git commit --message "<message>"`

Then commit without confirming again with the user:

git commit --message "<message>"

If pre-commit hooks modify files, stage those files individually and retry. Never use git commit --no-verify.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

commit is a skill published in the GitHub repository motlin/claude-code-plugins (20 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 285 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-19.
