builder-workflow

builder-workflow is a skill for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor from movahedan/monobun. It costs 45 tokens per session (1,330 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for implementing an approved development-plan phase through coding, automated checks, and review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to carry out a planned code or configuration phase, run checkup, and address critical review findings.
Why use it?
It sets boundaries around what gets built and verified before documentation updates, commits, or pull requests.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.01330
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00665
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00266
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00133

Measured 5d ago against content hash dfc0ed2de4be, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

builder-workflow scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Builder workflow

Overview

Parent agent runs an approved .cursor/plans/<slug>.plan.md in phases — code and config only. The plan is the spec for build and verify; chat is for gates and short status.

This skill ends when the phase build is complete (checkup PASS, critical review addressed). It does not edit documentation tiers, commit, or open PRs.

After this skill: documentation-syncgit-pr-workflow. Full order: initiative-workflow.

REQUIRED: planning-workflow; verification-before-completion (superpowers cache).

Read AGENTS.md, this skill, and orchestration.md by path — never paste into child prompts.

Token discipline (non-negotiable)

Rule Parent Subagent
Plan in .cursor/plans/*.plan.md Path + phase excerpt ≤40 lines Read phase section only
Every spawn Goal / Context / Constraints / Done-when / Output subagent-output-contract.md
Rules & skills @ paths only Same
Scout returns Merge task board; not full tables to user Table ≤40 rows, checklist ≤12
Checkup model: composer-2-fast (required) PASS/FAIL; ≤80 lines failures
Implementers Disjoint paths; no doc-tier files ≤25 paths changed
User status ≤12 lines per step N/A

Templates: prompt-templates.md

Build scope (in scope vs out)

In scope (builder) Out of scope — use later skills
apps/, packages/, tools/ code, tests, configs docs/, root README.md, AGENTS.md
CI/docker/tsconfig/package.json (non-doc) .cursor/skills/, .cursor/rules/ prose
Plan “Code/config surfaces” Plan Documentation before PR → documentation-sync

Exception: plan explicitly marks a docs-only phase — then builder skips code slices and user runs documentation-sync only.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
