brainstorm-team

brainstorm-team is a skill for Claude Code from Mr-Nothing-L/awesome-agent-team. It costs 119 tokens per session (836 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guided planning tool for designing a group of coding agents for a specific project. It helps define each agent’s role, responsibilities, and scope before the group is created.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to clarify a project goal, design project-specific agent roles, and create the files needed to start an agent team.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork from deciding which agents you need and what each one should do. You can review and adjust the plan before any agents are started.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00119 $0.00836
Opus 5 $0.00060 $0.00418
Sonnet 5 $0.00024 $0.00167
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00084

Security

Grade A, and why

brainstorm-team scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Language matching: detect the language the user is writing in and respond in the same language. If the user writes in Chinese, reply in Chinese. If English, reply in English. Do not mix languages unless the user does.

Work with a Team-Leader to design an Agent Team for your project.

When to use this skill

  • You know what you want to build but aren't sure what roles you need
  • You want project-specific agent definitions (not generic templates)
  • You want to review and approve the team design before anyone is spawned

What happens

  1. A Team-Leader subagent chats with you to clarify your goal
  2. The Team-Leader drafts a team composition (roles, scope, ownership)
  3. You iterate until you're satisfied
  4. The Team-Leader writes ./recruitment-plan.md and ./.claude/agents/<role>.md files
  5. You're ready for spawn-team

Prerequisite: Agent Teams must be enabled (CLAUDE_CODE_EXPERIMENTAL_AGENT_TEAMS=1). If not, run /start-team first — its Preflight phase will guide you through setup.

How to invoke

From /start-team

This is Phase 2 of the /start-team command. The main session spawns the Team-Leader automatically after Opening and Preflight.

Standalone

If you already have Agent Teams enabled and want to re-brainstorm (e.g. the project scope changed):

Agent({
  subagent_type: "awesome-agent-team:team-leader",
description: "Brainstorm team for: <your goal>",
  prompt: "<your goal and context>"
})

The Team-Leader's full behaviour is defined in agents/team-leader.md at the repo root (single source of truth).

The sign-off gate (critical)

The Team-Leader must not write any files until you explicitly approve the draft.

The loop:

  1. Team-Leader presents a draft table (roles, first tasks, file ownership)
  2. You approve, modify, add, or remove
  3. Loop until you say "go", "ok", "approved", "可以", "继续"
  4. Only then files are written

A premature ./.claude/agents/ directory means the gate was skipped — that's a bug.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
