auto-media-stinger

auto-media-stinger is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mr-tbot/Auto-Everything. It costs 101 tokens per session (5,940 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for creating or updating a stinger: a 15–30 second launch video used at the start of a landing page, app-store preview, paid advertisement, or product demo.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to write, edit, restore, or bring a launch trailer, sizzle reel, or short promotional spot back into line with the product.
Why use it?
It keeps the short introductory video consistent with what the product currently is and provides checks for the final deliverables.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00101 $0.05940
Opus 5.5 $0.00040 $0.02376
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00020 $0.01188
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00594

Security

Grade A, and why

auto-media-stinger scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 335 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

/auto-media-stinger

One deliverable: the stinger. The 15–30 second launch spot that plays at the top of the landing page, in the app-store preview slot, in a paid feed placement, and before a demo. One master timeline, three renders, one poster frame, one ship gate.

If the request is "make the videos", that is /auto-media-maker. If it is "make the video — the one that plays first", it is this one.

What This Skill Inherits

/auto-media-maker owns the shared foundation and this skill reads it rather than re-asking: pipeline discovery and .agent/media.json, the avatar and voice, the brand folder and its anti-references, the verbatim never_say list, the catalog, the watch/on_change machinery, per-line content-addressed narration, vN filenames, blessing, and the memory entry format. Its capture hygiene is law here too — scripted drive, no hand-scroll, cursor hidden, never film production writes, never show real customer data or a real card or a placeholder domain.

If none of that exists yet, bootstrap only what a stinger needs and hand the rest back: run the parent's Step 1 pipeline discovery, pick an avatar and voice from the real account listing, get the brand folder, capture the never_say list, and ask the advertisement style set only. Write one catalog entry. Then say in one line: "The rest of the series is unplanned — run /auto-media-maker when you want the catalog." Offer; do not perform.

Never plan a catalog here, never build a second config, memory file or CLI, and never re-ask an interview question the parent already answered.

A Stinger Is A Different Object

Four differences; every decision below falls out of them.

It is the only piece allowed to be striking. A tutorial that shows off has failed — the screen is the subject and the edit should be invisible. A stinger has no such duty. This is the one place in the whole media surface where rhythm, contrast, hard cuts, a real sound-design idea and a point of view are correct. Striking means composed, not busy. But do not import the tutorial's restraint: a stinger that looks like a well-behaved walkthrough has failed at its only job, which is to make someone stop.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

auto-media-stinger is a skill published in the GitHub repository mr-tbot/Auto-Everything (7 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 101 tokens to every session and 5,940 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
