pre-push-release-automation

pre-push-release-automation is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mrnajiboy/mr-magic-mcp-server. It costs 68 tokens per session (1,477 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A procedure for completing a software release from final local checks through GitHub CI, Release Please, and post-release verification. Release Please is a tool that prepares release pull requests and version changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before pushing a release to inspect the repository, run checks, push changes, monitor CI, handle the release pull request, and confirm the published result.
Why use it?
It coordinates the checks, push, automated release process, and verification steps so a release is not considered finished too early. It also protects unrelated work and release-generated files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00068 $0.01477
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00739
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00295
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00148

Security

Grade A, and why

pre-push-release-automation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Pre-Push Release Automation

Overview

Run the full release loop with minimal back-and-forth: local checks, scoped formatting, commit, push, CI monitoring, Release Please PR handling, post-merge verification, and final repository synchronization.

This skill is optimized for Roo Code sessions where the user explicitly asks to push and merge the auto-release PR if checks pass.

When to Use

Use this skill when the user asks for any of these:

  • “final pre-push check”
  • “lint, prettify, pass, then push”
  • “push to git”
  • “merge the auto-release PR if CI/CD passes”
  • “run release please and publish”
  • “verify CI after merge”

Preconditions

  • Confirm the repository is a Git working tree.
  • Confirm the intended branch and remote with git status --short --branch and git remote -v.
  • Never include unrelated user changes unless explicitly requested.
  • Do not manually edit release-generated files such as CHANGELOG.md, .release-please-manifest.json, package.json, or lockfiles unless the current task specifically requires release metadata changes. Let Release Please own release-note and version bumps.

Standard Flow

1. Inspect repository state

Run:

git status --short --branch
git remote -v

If unexpected deleted or modified files appear, pause and determine whether they are related. Restore unrelated changes before committing unless the user explicitly wants them included.

2. Run local checks

Prefer the project’s native commands. For this Node/npm project pattern:

npm run format
npm run test
npm run lint
npm run format:check

If full format touches release-generated or unrelated files, restore those unrelated files and run targeted checks on the intended files instead:

git restore -- CHANGELOG.md
npm run test
npm run lint
npx prettier --check <changed-files>

3. Review the diff and scan for secrets

Run:

git status --short
git diff --stat
git diff -- . | grep -iE 'password|secret|api[_-]?key|token' || true

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pre-push-release-automation is a skill published in the GitHub repository mrnajiboy/mr-magic-mcp-server (1 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 68 tokens to every session and 1,477 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
