Balise IDEA — visual workspace edition
Use this edition to build a visual view of a text-based decision and evidence trace. The canvas supports discussion and review; it does not establish evidence, authorization, saturation, causality, or runtime behavior.
Canvas role
Treat the canvas as a view of an exportable trace. Keep identifiers, provenance, uncertainty, and decisions readable and recoverable outside the canvas.
Useful objects include:
- route and diagnostic cards;
- source and provenance cards linked to observations;
- an opportunity map with counter-evidence and minority cases;
- idea-family cards and qualitative comparison lanes;
- hypothesis and experiment cards with status and stop condition;
- a decision log and learning timeline.
Required fields
Every linked object should retain, where relevant:
- a stable ID;
- source or provenance information;
- the current uncertainty or evidence limit;
- the decision, owner, or next reversible action;
- status and stop or escalation conditions.
Keep outside the canvas
Keep raw or sensitive corpus material, consent records, web research, experiment execution, access-control decisions, legal, medical, or security decisions, and external actions outside the canvas by default. A visual arrangement cannot establish evidence, authorization, causality, or safety.
Construction procedure
- State the purpose of the canvas, audience, and review moment.
- Add only the route, sources, observations, opportunities, options, hypotheses, experiments, and decisions needed for that review.
- Link each claim or object to its source ID and mark uncertainty, counter-evidence, minority cases, and missing information.
- Mark editable and read-only content, privacy or redaction requirements, and any fields that must remain outside the canvas.
- Check that the visual arrangement does not imply validation, completion, authorization, or a decision that the text trace does not support.
