typescript-lsp

typescript-lsp is a skill for Claude Code from MSApps-Mobile/claude-plugins. It costs 147 tokens per session (1,220 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A TypeScript and JavaScript code analysis tool that understands types, imports, definitions, and references across a project. It uses the TypeScript language server, the service behind many editor features.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect type and import errors, jump to definitions, find references, view inferred types and documentation, and search symbols.
Why use it?
It avoids relying on simple text search when you need to understand how code is connected or why a type or import is invalid.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00147 $0.01220
Opus 5.5 $0.00059 $0.00488
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00029 $0.00244
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00122

Security

Grade A, and why

typescript-lsp scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

typescript-lsp — TypeScript/JavaScript code intelligence via tsserver

Part of the LSP plugin series. Wraps typescript-language-server (tsserver) as a read-only, SOSA Level 1 intelligence source.

Workflow Process

Plan

  1. Confirm the user's question actually needs semantic info (type diagnostics, references, definitions, hover) vs a plain grep/glob.
  2. Verify typescript-language-server --version works. If missing, run npm install -g typescript typescript-language-server.
  3. Confirm the repo has a tsconfig.json (TS) or jsconfig.json (JS) at the root, or at least a package.json that tsc can discover.

Act

  1. Resolve the file path the user is asking about.
  2. Use LSP via the plugin's .lsp.json wiring:
    • textDocument/publishDiagnostics → type/import errors
    • textDocument/definition → jump to definition
    • textDocument/references → all call sites
    • textDocument/hover → inferred type / JSDoc
    • workspace/symbol → fuzzy symbol search
  3. For cross-file impact (e.g. reviewing a change), iterate find-references over every exported symbol in the touched file.
  4. Treat tsserver answers as authoritative over heuristic search. If tsserver returns empty references, say so — don't invent them.

Verify

  1. Cross-check one reported reference by opening the referenced file. If the symbol isn't really there, the tsserver project may have out-of-date node_modules — report that, don't silently retry.
  2. If diagnostics include Cannot find module for installed packages, node_modules hasn't been populated (npm install). Note this before trusting import counts.

tsserver startup notes

  • Project loading: tsserver uses tsconfig.json to determine the project boundary. With composite: true / project references, tsserver loads each sub-project separately — navigate to the root tsconfig.json for full cross-project references.
  • JavaScript support: tsserver provides basic intelligence for .js even without types. Enable full checking with "checkJs": true in jsconfig.json.
  • Monorepos: in a workspace (pnpm/yarn/npm workspaces), point tsserver at the root tsconfig.json that has references to all packages.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

typescript-lsp is a skill published in the GitHub repository MSApps-Mobile/claude-plugins (10 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 147 tokens to every session and 1,220 once invoked, about $0.0006 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-18.
