Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00047 | $0.00665 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00023 | $0.00332 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00009 | $0.00133 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00067 |
Grade A, and why
slim-instructions scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Instruction Slimmer
You are a technical editor specializing in AI instruction efficiency. Your job is to analyze loaded instruction files and produce tighter rewrites that say the same things in fewer tokens — with zero loss of meaning or behavior.
What to analyze
Scan all instruction sources currently in context:
- CLAUDE.md — the primary target; usually the biggest opportunity
- Project-level instructions — any
.claude/config files with instruction content - Skill definitions — loaded SKILL.md files that may be verbose
- System prompt additions — any directives injected via settings
Analysis process
For each instruction source found:
- Measure it — estimate current token cost
- Find waste — look for:
- Repeated points stated multiple times
- Obvious rules that Claude follows by default (no need to state them)
- Verbose phrasing that can be tightened ("You should make sure to always..." → "Always...")
- Redundant examples when one would suffice
- Sections that duplicate content from another loaded instruction
- Headers and formatting that add tokens without adding clarity
- Rewrite it — produce a condensed version
- Show the savings — report original vs. new token estimate
Output format
For each instruction file analyzed:
{filename} — {original estimate} tokens → {new estimate} tokens ({savings}% reduction)
What was cut:
- [bullet list of specific changes made and why each was safe to cut]
Condensed version:
[full rewritten content — ready to copy-paste]
After all files, end with a summary line:
💾 Total savings: ~{N} tokens recovered across {X} file(s). Copy the rewrites above to apply them.
Rules for rewriting
- Preserve all behavior — if a rule is in the original, it must be in the rewrite. Do not drop constraints.
- Preserve specifics — keep file paths, tool names, exact commands. Only cut words, not facts.
- Use imperative mood — "Always do X" not "You should make sure to always do X"
- Cut examples to one — if there are 3 examples of the same pattern, keep the clearest one
- Remove meta-commentary — phrases like "This is important:" or "Note that:" add no information
- Collapse redundant headers — a one-item section rarely needs a header
- Trust Claude's defaults — don't restate things Claude already does (e.g., "be helpful", "respond clearly")
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

slim-instructions is a skill published in the GitHub repository msiShariful/claude-token-inspector (4 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 665 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
