strategy-distribution

strategy-distribution is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mstr-sharma/strategy-automate. It costs 171 tokens per session (4,003 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A REST API tool for managing Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) deliveries. It handles subscriptions, schedules, events, recipients, and delivery destinations such as email, files, cloud storage, and the History List.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create, inspect, pause, delete, or send subscriptions; manage schedules and event triggers; and maintain contacts, devices, transmitters, and recipient groups.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manually configure and monitor recurring report deliveries in the Strategy interface. It also makes delivery actions scriptable, while warning that some actions send real messages or files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00171 $0.04003
Opus 5.5 $0.00068 $0.01601
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00801
Haiku 4.5 $0.00017 $0.00400

Security

Grade A, and why

strategy-distribution scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 186 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Strategy distribution

Subscriptions, schedules, events, recipients and the History List — the delivery side of Strategy. Every call goes through strategy_api.py; sign-in, ops / describe / call, dry runs and --yes are in skills/strategy-platform/SKILL.md. A send lands in real inboxes and folders — read the Safety rules before any --yes that sends.

Scope

Owns the spec tags Subscriptions (with dynamic recipient lists, Excel templates, subscription images, dependent subscriptions), Schedules, Events, Transmitters, Devices, Contacts, Contact Groups and History List: $API ops --tag strategy-distribution.

Route elsewhere:

  • Mosaic model build, publish, refresh now, table ids → skills/build-mosaic-model/SKILL.md (build_mosaic.py publish / refresh). This skill only puts a refresh on a schedule (workflow 9).
  • Finding, running and exporting the content a subscription delivers, answering its prompts, cube publish → skills/strategy-content/SKILL.md.
  • Users, user groups, user addresses (createAddress is User Management), send-now and schedule privileges → strategy-admin.
  • Delivery jobs, caches, telemetry → strategy-ops. Subscriptions, schedules and events across environments → strategy-migration.

How to work

  1. Sign in once (strategy_auth.py login), export MSTR_PROJECT_ID, and from the repo root API="python3 skills/strategy-platform/scripts/strategy_api.py".
  2. $API describe <operationId> before every call. The body skeleton lists up to 40 values of an enum.
  3. Reads first. GETs run directly; POST-based reads (…/query, …/results) change nothing but still need --yes.
  4. Every write: run it without --yes, check the printed request (recipients, schedule, content, delivery target), then add --yes.
  5. Read back after each write — the server rewrites some fields on save (workflow 3).
  6. Remove the test subscriptions, schedules, events, contacts and History List messages you made; report anything left behind with its id.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
