dedup-prior-art-check

dedup-prior-art-check is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mtarcure/claude-vibe-squad. It costs 83 tokens per session (741 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A prior-art check for smart-contract security findings. It searches advisories, earlier audits, bug-bounty reports, and past submissions for the same underlying bug or attack chain.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps compare a new lead by its root cause, affected component, version, and exact sequence of actions before deeper work or submission.
Why use it?
It prevents time being spent on known issues and reduces the chance of submitting a duplicate report.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00083 $0.00741
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.00296
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00148
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00074

Security

Grade A, and why

dedup-prior-art-check scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Dedup / Prior-Art / Novelty Check

Before spending effort on a lead and again immediately before submitting a finding, prove the vulnerability (and the specific composite chain) is not already known — so the squad never burns a report on a duplicate. This operationalizes systematic-attacking Phase 1 and its pre-submit refresh into a concrete, evidence-producing gate.

Source: corpus B §11 (Cyfrin Solodit — 49k+ aggregated real-world smart-contract findings, via solodit-mcp when adopted) and the chrono-dedup plugin; corpus A elite-vs-average (narrow-and-deep continuous prior-art discipline). Impact class enabler: protects report acceptance rate; a duplicate/likely-duplicate verdict routes a lead for differentiation. This gate does not itself kill or demote - campaign disposition, and the single Phase-5 candidate-kill point, is owned by shared/modes/bounty.md. Governing method: the dedup gate of systematic-attacking (Phase 1 + pre-submit).

Method

  1. Build the search key from the lead: root-cause class, affected contract/endpoint/component, protocol + version, and the specific chain shape (not just the vuln class).
  2. Query the prior-art surfaces via the chrono-dedup plugin: program disclosure history (HackerOne/ Immunefi), GHSA/CVE/OSV, and — for web3 — the Solodit corpus (solodit-mcp if provisioned; else note needs_tool and use manual Solodit lookup). Search our own chrono-vault for prior squad work on the target.
  3. Classify: novel / variant-of-known (cite the closest prior finding + what differs) / likely-duplicate / duplicate. Composite chains get a separate verdict — a chain of known primitives can still be a novel composition, and a novel-looking chain can be a known composite.
  4. Return the novelty verdict with evidence; do not kill or demote - that is the campaign's call (shared/modes/bounty.md, Phase 5). An exact collision leaves the active queue but is preserved as an inner-link primitive for the chainer ('differentiate, don't veto'). For variant-of-known, document the delta that makes it independently submittable.
  5. Refresh the check immediately before submission (new disclosures land daily); attach the dated query evidence to the report.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
