calendar

calendar is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mudler/LocalAI. It costs 66 tokens per session (740 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for managing a user's calendar through an agent. It covers reading events and availability, creating and changing appointments or reminders, cancelling them, and handling repeating events.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to view an agenda or date range, find an event, add or edit an appointment, cancel an occurrence, or create a repeating event.
Why use it?
It reduces mistakes with dates, time zones, repeated events, and similarly named appointments by defining how to search, read, and change calendar entries.

About the project

LocalAI is an inference server that runs language, vision, voice, image, and video models through compatible APIs on local hardware. It is used to operate models privately across different hardware, including CPU-only systems, and supports applications, agents, and multi-user services. The catalogue contains instructions for using LocalAI.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00066 $0.00740
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.00296
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00148
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00074

Security

Grade A, and why

calendar scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 38 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Calendar

The calendar is the user's own. It lives inside LocalAI and is shared by all of the user's agents. There is one calendar for each user, with no account behind it.

Read first, ask nothing

Reading needs no confirmation. For "what is on Thursday?" or "am I free on the 14th?", call events-list.

  • With no arguments it gives today and the next six days. The answer also holds today and zone: use them to turn words such as Thursday or next week into dates. Do not guess today's date.
  • Give from and to (YYYY-MM-DD, to included) for any other range, at most 400 days.
  • Repeating events are already expanded: every item is one occurrence, in time order, with its weekday.
  • To find an event by words ("the dentist"), call events-search. It gives each event once, with the start of its next occurrence.
  • event-get gives one event in full, with the dates taken out of its repeat.

Write times the way the user said them

  • start and end are local: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM, for example 2026-11-12T20:00. Do not convert to UTC. Leave zone out unless the user named another place; the calendar uses the zone the user set.
  • "Dinner at 8" has no end: leave end out and it lasts one hour. Ask only if the date or the time is truly missing.
  • A whole day: allDay true and start as YYYY-MM-DD. For several days, end is the last day.
  • place and attendees are free text. Do not invent either.

Change things

  • event-create needs title and start. Say back what you added: the title, the day and the time.
  • event-update takes the id and only the fields that change. Moving the start keeps the length of the event.
  • event-delete removes the event. For a repeating event, give occurrence (the date of that one day) to skip only that day; without it the whole series goes. If the user says "cancel this week's yoga", skip that day; do not delete the series.
  • repeat is daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, with an optional interval and an optional last day until. {"freq": "none"} takes a repeat away. A monthly repeat on the 31st skips months that have no 31st.
  • Look the event up first (events-list or events-search) to get its id. Never guess an ID.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
