craft

craft is a skill for Claude Code from Muminur/frontend-design-craft-skill. It costs 155 tokens per session (1,789 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A website and frontend design guide covering layout, typography, colour, content, animation, and other details that make an interface feel deliberate.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build or redesign landing pages, dashboards, forms, onboarding screens, settings panels, hero sections, and empty states.
Why use it?
It helps improve interfaces that work technically but look generic, poorly structured, or unfinished.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00155 $0.01789
Opus 5 $0.00077 $0.00894
Sonnet 5 $0.00031 $0.00358
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00179

Security

Grade A, and why

craft scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Craft — Website Design

A frontend can be technically correct and still look generic, flat, or unmistakably AI-generated. Craft is the layer that turns "it works" into "it looks intentional." It is organized around three lenses that must all be applied; none of them alone is sufficient.

The three lenses

Lens What it owns Sub-skill
Motion Animations, transitions, easing, choreography, micro-interactions motion
Polish Typography, spacing, layout, color, visual hierarchy, alignment polish
Taste Removing AI tells, content authenticity, distinctive aesthetics taste

When the user asks for design work, do not collapse these into one pass. Apply them in this order:

  1. Polish first. A site with broken hierarchy and arbitrary spacing cannot be saved by animation or taste. Fix the bones.
  2. Taste second. Once structure is sound, strip the AI-generated tells and make deliberate aesthetic decisions.
  3. Motion last. Animation amplifies whatever is already there. Apply it to a polished, tasteful interface and it elevates; apply it to a generic one and it just makes the generic interface move.

Two modes — pick one before starting

Ask which mode the user is in if it is not obvious from context. Brand sites and product UIs need opposite things, and applying brand rules to a dashboard (or product rules to a marketing page) is one of the largest sources of bad output.

Brand mode — marketing sites, landing pages, portfolios, editorial, launch pages

  • Design is the product. Expressive type, larger hero moments, more whitespace, looser grid, more motion is acceptable.
  • Bias toward distinctiveness over conventional patterns.
  • Fluid typography is appropriate.
  • Hero sections, custom illustrations, scroll-triggered moments are on the table.

Product mode — app UIs, dashboards, settings panels, internal tools, B2B SaaS

  • Design serves the task. Tighter density, fixed type scales, restrained motion, predictable patterns.
  • Bias toward clarity and learnability over expressiveness.
  • Never use fluid type for app UI body text — it makes the interface feel unstable across breakpoints.
  • Animation must be functional (state transitions, focus, feedback) — never decorative.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

craft is a skill published in the GitHub repository Muminur/frontend-design-craft-skill (4 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 155 tokens to every session and 1,789 once invoked, about $0.0008 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
