hpe-copyright

hpe-copyright is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from mvilrokx/claude-skills. It costs 105 tokens per session (792 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A procedure for checking and adding Hewlett Packard Enterprise copyright headers to source files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scan files in dry-run mode, add missing headers, update outdated years, or run a check that fails when headers are incorrect.
Why use it?
It helps files meet a required copyright-header format and keeps the year range current before code review or continuous integration checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00105 $0.00792
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.00396
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00158
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00079

Security

Grade A, and why

hpe-copyright scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/copyright_check.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Quick Reference

Check all files (dry run)

python scripts/copyright_check.py /path/to/repo --dry-run

Fix all files

python scripts/copyright_check.py /path/to/repo

CI check mode (fails if issues found)

python scripts/copyright_check.py /path/to/repo --check-only

Rules

  1. Missing header: Add Copyright CURRENT_YEAR-CURRENT_YEAR Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
  2. Outdated year: Update only the second year to current year (e.g., 2024-20242024-2025)
  3. Exclusions: Respects both .gitignore and .copyrightignore files (gitignore-style patterns)

Manual Fixes

When manually adding or fixing a copyright header:

  1. Determine the correct comment syntax for the file type
  2. Add as the very first line of the file
  3. Use current year for both years if creating new: Copyright 2025-2025 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
  4. If updating existing, only change the second year

Supported File Types

The script supports 50+ file extensions including:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
