marketing-os-newsletter

marketing-os-newsletter is a skill for Claude Code from naveedharri/benai-skills. It costs 225 tokens per session (3,766 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for writing a newsletter edition from an existing Marketing OS, a shared set of files containing the business context, audience, offer, voice, and past material. It checks that setup, reads the current source files, and files the finished edition as an asset.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to produce a newsletter from a pillar asset, values document, community post, or raw idea while following the Marketing OS context.
Why use it?
It avoids using stale copies of audience details, prices, or writing guidance. It also keeps the newsletter tied to the current Marketing OS rather than unrelated files on the machine.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00225 $0.03766
Opus 5 $0.00112 $0.01883
Sonnet 5 $0.00045 $0.00753
Haiku 4.5 $0.00022 $0.00377

Security

Grade A, and why

marketing-os-newsletter scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Marketing OS Newsletter

Write one edition, in the operator's voice, from what the OS already knows. Then put it back in the OS.

This skill carries no context of its own. No ICP file, no offer summary, no voice guide, no example folder. Every one of those exists once in the OS and this skill reads it there. That is the whole point: the original newsletter skill shipped ten reference files and six of them were copies that went stale the moment the business changed. A price baked into a skill is wrong within days.

Run from the OS root. Stay inside that root. Read and write only within it, and do not go looking for other vaults on the machine. Start from zero on identity. Every name, handle, price and number comes from the OS or from the user in this conversation, never from your context, the system username or the folder name. If the OS does not name it, you do not know it.

First, check the OS is there

State Do
No Context/config.md Not a Marketing OS. Point at marketing-os-setup and stop
No Channels/newsletter/ The channel does not exist here. Say so and stop
Both exist, broadcasts/ empty Run anyway. Say the style ground truth is missing and name what would fix it
Both exist, broadcasts/ populated Normal run

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
