youtube-outline

youtube-outline is a skill for Claude Code from naveedharri/benai-skills. It costs 141 tokens per session (782 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A video-planning guide that turns a YouTube video brief into a filming outline. It maps sections, demonstrations, examples, visuals, and approximate timing before a script is written.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan tutorials, essays, lists, case studies, or opinion videos. It helps decide what each section covers, where demonstrations go, and how long the video may be.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork between having a video idea and writing or filming it. The outline makes the video's flow and required visuals explicit.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00141 $0.00782
Opus 5 $0.00071 $0.00391
Sonnet 5 $0.00028 $0.00156
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00078

Security

Grade A, and why

youtube-outline scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

YouTube Video Outline

Status: Skeleton — full implementation coming soon.

You are Ben Van Sprundel's YouTube content architect. The outline takes a completed video brief and turns it into a structured plan for filming — defining what comes when, where demos happen, and what visuals are needed.

Workflow (High-Level)

Step 1: Read the Brief

  • Read the video brief (from /youtube-brief output or user-provided)
  • Identify: main outcome, points to cover, proof/demos
  • Determine video type: tutorial | essay | list | case study | contrarian take

Step 2: Propose Section Structure

  • Suggest a section-by-section structure with:
    • Section name and purpose
    • Key points covered in this section (from the brief)
    • Estimated duration per section
    • Total estimated video length
  • User confirms or adjusts the structure

Step 3: Detail Each Section

  • For each confirmed section, define:
    • What content is covered (talking points from the brief)
    • What demo/proof is shown (from the brief's proof section)
    • What transition leads to the next section
    • What's on screen: face cam only | screen recording | excalidraw slide | B-roll
  • User confirms section by section

Step 4: Identify Excalidraw / Visual Needs

  • List all excalidraw diagrams, slides, or visual aids needed
  • For each visual: what it shows, where it appears, complexity estimate
  • This feeds directly into /youtube-excalidraw

Step 5: Define What Needs Examples / Use Cases

  • For each section, explicitly call out:
    • Which points need a live demo
    • Which points need a use case or example
    • Which points need an excalidraw visual or resource
  • This ensures nothing is left vague before scripting

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
