awsclaw-cloudwatch

awsclaw-cloudwatch is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from necatiarslan/awsclaw. It costs 62 tokens per session (3,386 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A skill for querying and managing Amazon CloudWatch Logs, the AWS service that stores logs from cloud applications and infrastructure. It supports log groups, streams, events, Insights queries, metric filters, subscriptions, retention, and related policies.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find and filter log events, run CloudWatch Insights queries, inspect log configuration, change retention, or manage log groups and streams.
Why use it?
It avoids searching AWS logs manually and provides one workflow for investigating events from services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, ECS, and Step Functions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00062 $0.03386
Opus 5 $0.00031 $0.01693
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00677
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00339

Measured 5d ago against content hash 77d55ee68e0c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

awsclaw-cloudwatch scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Awsclaw CloudWatch Logs

Query and manage CloudWatch log groups, streams, events, run Insights queries, and open the interactive log viewer.

When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when the user:

  • Asks about CloudWatch logs or log groups
  • Wants to search log events or filter by pattern
  • Needs to run CloudWatch Insights queries
  • Wants to find logs from Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, or other services
  • Needs to inspect metric filters, subscriptions, or query definitions
  • Wants to open the interactive CloudWatch Log Viewer
  • Needs to create, delete, or tag log groups and log streams
  • Needs to configure retention policies or resource policies

Tool: CloudWatchLogTool

Execute CloudWatch Logs commands including Insights queries. ALWAYS provide params object.

Commands

Get log events from a specific stream.

{ "command": "GetLogEvents", "params": { "logGroupName": "/aws/lambda/my-function", "logStreamName": "2024/01/01/[$LATEST]abc123", "limit": 100 } }

Parameters:

Parameter Type Required Description
logGroupName string Yes Target log group name
logStreamName string Yes Target log stream name
startTime number No Start time in epoch milliseconds
endTime number No End time in epoch milliseconds
startFromHead boolean No Start from the beginning of the stream
limit number No Maximum events to return
nextToken string No Pagination token

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
