artifacts-builder

artifacts-builder is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from nevergoodstudy-hub/wechat-article-summarizer. It costs 63 tokens per session (696 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of web-artifacts-builder, MIT.

A starter toolkit for building complex HTML interfaces as single files, using React, TypeScript, and common web UI components. It is intended for interactive artifacts that need several parts, navigation, or saved state.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating interactive browser artifacts with forms, navigation, reusable interface components, and changing application state.
Why use it?
It provides a prepared project structure and build process, so developers do not have to assemble the frontend setup themselves. It also bundles the finished project into one HTML file.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00063 $0.00696
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00348
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

artifacts-builder scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/bundle-artifact.sh, scripts/init-artifact.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Artifacts Builder

To build powerful frontend claude.ai artifacts, follow these steps:

  1. Initialize the frontend repo using scripts/init-artifact.sh
  2. Develop your artifact by editing the generated code
  3. Bundle all code into a single HTML file using scripts/bundle-artifact.sh
  4. Display artifact to user
  5. (Optional) Test the artifact

Stack: React 18 + TypeScript + Vite + Parcel (bundling) + Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui

Design & Style Guidelines

VERY IMPORTANT: To avoid what is often referred to as "AI slop", avoid using excessive centered layouts, purple gradients, uniform rounded corners, and Inter font.

Quick Start

Step 1: Initialize Project

Run the initialization script to create a new React project:

bash scripts/init-artifact.sh <project-name>
cd <project-name>

This creates a fully configured project with:

  • ✅ React + TypeScript (via Vite)
  • ✅ Tailwind CSS 3.4.1 with shadcn/ui theming system
  • ✅ Path aliases (@/) configured
  • ✅ 40+ shadcn/ui components pre-installed
  • ✅ All Radix UI dependencies included
  • ✅ Parcel configured for bundling (via .parcelrc)
  • ✅ Node 18+ compatibility (auto-detects and pins Vite version)

Step 2: Develop Your Artifact

To build the artifact, edit the generated files. See Common Development Tasks below for guidance.

Step 3: Bundle to Single HTML File

To bundle the React app into a single HTML artifact:

bash scripts/bundle-artifact.sh

This creates bundle.html - a self-contained artifact with all JavaScript, CSS, and dependencies inlined. This file can be directly shared in Claude conversations as an artifact.

Requirements: Your project must have an index.html in the root directory.

What the script does:

  • Installs bundling dependencies (parcel, @parcel/config-default, parcel-resolver-tspaths, html-inline)
  • Creates .parcelrc config with path alias support
  • Builds with Parcel (no source maps)
  • Inlines all assets into single HTML using html-inline

Step 4: Share Artifact with User

Files

What ships with it

4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
