Media-Editor-MCP: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/cc-add-effects/SKILL.md

cc-add-effects is a skill for Claude Code from nguyenph88/Media-Editor-MCP. It costs 94 tokens per session (901 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A CapCut editing tool that adds filters, visual effects, animations, and transitions to clips in an open draft. CapCut is a video-editing application.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to give a reel or other video a requested look, add effects to individual clips, and place transitions or animations between clips.
Why use it?
It helps apply a consistent visual style across a draft without manually searching for and adding each effect. Effects already downloaded on the computer are preferred.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00094 $0.00901
Opus 5 $0.00047 $0.00451
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00180
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00090

Security

Grade A, and why

cc-add-effects scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 60 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Add effects — CapCut filters, effects, animations, transitions

Decorate a CapCut draft with its rich built-in library. This is the headline reason to use CapCut over Premiere. Works on the active in-memory draft (one you just built with cc-create-reel/create_draft).

Architecture reminder: edits a draft file. CapCut must be closed while saving. After save_draft, the user opens the project in CapCut.

Catalog & the "cached" guarantee

list_effects / list_filters search ~4,400 built-in entries (filters, visual effects, intro/outro/group animations, transitions, audio effects, text animations). Each result has:

  • name / key — pass either to the add_* tools.
  • cached: true — the resource is already downloaded on this machine, so it renders immediately when CapCut opens the draft. cached: false — CapCut downloads it on open (needs internet); fine, just less certain.
  • is_vip: true — a Pro effect; may watermark/limit without a subscription.

Default to cached_only=true unless the user asks for something specific that isn't cached. Results already rank cached + non-VIP first.

Steps

  1. Interpret the request. If the user names a vibe, map it to catalog searches. If they give no specific look (or ask for "my style" / a moody R&B reel), apply the default signature style in .claude/presets/moody-rnb.md — its effect stack, grade, and the no-faces stock rule. Otherwise:

    • "warm / cinematic / moody grade" → list_filters query="..." cached_only=true, pick one.
    • "glitch / VHS / light leak / blur / shake" → list_effects kind=video_effect query="...".
    • "zoom / bounce / slide in" → list_effects kind=intro (and kind=outro).
    • "better transitions" → list_effects kind=transition (e.g. the user's frequent Bubble Blur). If unsure, start from what the user already uses (the harvested personal library) — those are cached and on-brand.
  2. Inspect the draft. draft_status → the list of clips and their current decorations.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
