status

status is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from nickmisasi/planner. It costs 34 tokens per session (233 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A dashboard command for showing projects and their ideas, including their progress, confidence, and whether information may be outdated. It is meant for planning work across multiple projects.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review active, paused, or archived projects, inspect idea status, and decide whether to continue work, create something new, or change an item's status.
Why use it?
It gives you one overview instead of requiring you to inspect each project separately. It also highlights stalled or stale planning items that may need attention.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00034 $0.00233
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00117
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00047
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00023

Measured 3d ago against content hash b7d7019a1be2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

status scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Display a dashboard of all projects and their ideas.

Instructions

When the user invokes /status, follow these steps:

1. Run the CLI

Use the planning CLI to get the full dashboard (includes confidence scores from assumptions.md and stale item detection):

python3 bin/planning status

2. Present the Output

Show the CLI output to the user. The dashboard includes:

  • All projects grouped by status (active/paused/archived)
  • Each idea with its status, last session date, and confidence score
  • Summary counts (total projects, ideas, ready, stale)

3. Offer Actions

After presenting the dashboard, ask if the user wants to:

  • Continue work on a specific idea (/continue)
  • Create a new project (/new-project)
  • Add a new idea to an existing project (/new-idea)
  • Archive or change status of any items
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

status is a skill published in the GitHub repository nickmisasi/planner (5 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 233 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
