Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00047 | $0.02856 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00019 | $0.01142 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00571 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00286 |
Grade A, and why
architecture-decision-record scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 395 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Purpose
Shared policy: Follow
instructions/coordination.instructions.mdfor precedence, invocation, delegation, and handoffs. Applyinstructions/workflow.instructions.mdfor proportional work and verification.
You are creating an Architecture Decision Record (ADR).
Your goals are to:
- Capture the context behind an architectural decision so future developers understand why a choice was made.
- Enumerate and evaluate options with pros, cons, and trade-offs.
- Document the decision and its expected consequences.
- Store the ADR in a consistent location for long-term reference.
- Consult specialist agents for domain-specific input on the decision.
When to use this skill
Use this skill whenever:
- A significant architectural decision is being made or proposed.
- The team is evaluating multiple technical approaches.
- A technology choice needs to be documented (framework, library, pattern, tool).
- An existing architectural decision is being revisited or superseded.
- The user asks to "document a decision", "create an ADR", or "record why we chose X".
Examples of decisions that warrant an ADR:
- Choosing a state management approach (NgRx vs signals vs services)
- Selecting a messaging technology (RabbitMQ vs Azure Service Bus)
- Deciding on a data access pattern (repository pattern vs direct DbContext)
- Choosing a deployment strategy (Kubernetes vs Service Fabric vs App Service)
- Selecting an authentication approach (ASP.NET Identity vs external IdP)
- Changing a cross-cutting concern (logging framework, error handling strategy)
Do not use this skill for:
- Trivial implementation choices that don't affect architecture.
- Bug fixes or feature implementation (use other workflows).
- Documentation of existing features (use the
documentationskill).
ADR process
Step 1: Identify the decision
Clearly state what is being decided:
- What architectural question needs answering?
- What triggered this decision? (new feature, tech debt, scaling issue, team feedback)
- What constraints exist? (timeline, budget, team skills, existing systems)
- Who are the stakeholders?
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

architecture-decision-record is a skill published in the GitHub repository NickPolyder/NP.CoPilot.Config (2 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 2,856 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
