technical-analysis

technical-analysis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from nimadorostkar/Claude-Skills-collection. It costs 37 tokens per session (1,458 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for reading price and trading-volume patterns to describe market trends, support and resistance, and where a trading idea would be invalidated.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing charts, identifying trends and key price levels, comparing an instrument with a benchmark, and setting entry, stop, target, and invalidation levels.
Why use it?
It separates chart description from prediction and makes the limits of technical signals explicit.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.01458
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00729
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00292
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00146

Security

Grade A, and why

technical-analysis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Technical Analysis

Purpose

Read price and volume structure to characterize a trend and identify where a thesis would be proven wrong. Technical analysis describes what price is doing; it does not predict what it will do, and treating it as prediction is where practitioners lose money.

When to Use

  • Assessing whether an instrument is trending, ranging, or breaking down.
  • Identifying levels for entry, stop, and target.
  • Confirming or contradicting a fundamental thesis with price action.
  • Reviewing a chart before a trade.

Capabilities

  • Trend structure: higher highs and lows, moving-average alignment.
  • Support and resistance identification.
  • Volume analysis and confirmation.
  • Relative strength against a benchmark.
  • Common patterns and their actual, unimpressive reliability.

Inputs

  • Price and volume history, in sufficient length to see the structure.
  • The benchmark, for relative strength.
  • The time frame that matches the intended holding period.

Outputs

  • A characterization of the trend and its stage.
  • Levels: where the structure breaks, where resistance sits.
  • An explicit invalidation point.

Workflow

  1. Establish the trend, on the right time frame — Higher highs and higher lows is an uptrend. The 50-day above the 200-day, both rising, is a confirmed one. Match the time frame to the holding period; a daily chart is irrelevant to a multi-year position.
  2. Mark the levels that matter — Prior swing highs and lows, and areas where price has repeatedly reversed. A level touched twice is a hypothesis; a level touched four times is a level.
  3. Check volume — A breakout on below-average volume is a hypothesis without evidence. An advance on declining volume is a warning.
  4. Measure relative strength — An instrument rising less than its index in an advance is weak, whatever the chart looks like in isolation.
  5. Define the invalidation before entry — The price at which the read is wrong. This is the stop, and it must be identified before there is money at stake and an incentive to move it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
