tool-og-render

tool-og-render is a skill for Claude Code from noontide-co/mainbranch. It costs 40 tokens per session (272 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command-line tool that converts an inline SVG image into a 1200-by-630 PNG. SVG is a text-based image format; PNG is a common bitmap format used by web pages.

In plain words
What is it for?
Rendering an SVG file into a social-sharing image, checking its dimensions, and reporting whether the conversion completed normally or with reduced support.
Why use it?
It provides a repeatable way to create and check the PNG image used when a page is shared on social networks or in messaging apps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.00272
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00136
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

tool-og-render scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (wrapper.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

tool-og-render

Wrapper SKILL.md for the og_render.py implementation living at .claude/skills/site/scripts/og_render.py. Live-tested via PR #100 on thelastbill.com.

Subcommand

tool-og-render render <input.svg> [<output.png>]

Renders 1200x630, validates dimensions, returns a companyctx-shape envelope on stdout. Exit 0 on ok|partial; 1 on degraded.

Why this exists as a tool

Site HTML/CSS/SVG generation happens via Claude Code subagents (LLM work). The SVG → PNG render is deterministic external work — shell to a binary, validate output. Closed-enum errors. That's tool-shape.

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
