midas-harness: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/midas-align/SKILL.md

midas-align is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from okuzpe/midas-harness. It costs 90 tokens per session (1,355 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A change-follow-up check for Midas projects that maps edits to the other files and generated outputs they may affect. A propagation check means verifying that related adapters, bundles, versions, documentation, and tests stay consistent.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after changing skills, rules, conventions, installers, version files, or generated source trees to identify required follow-up work and run appropriate checks.
Why use it?
It helps catch incomplete changes before a merge or sprint ends, such as updated source rules that were not reflected in generated files or documentation.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is okuzpe/midas-harness's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on midas-harness itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything midas-harness configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is # equivalent: node scripts/render-adapters.mjs && npm run verify.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00090 $0.01355
Opus 5 $0.00045 $0.00678
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00271
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00136

Security

Grade A, and why

midas-align scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 114 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

midas-align — keep sources, bundles, docs, and versions aligned

Guard + state: <paths.engine>/templates/skill-state-ritual.md (+ AGENTS.md § Safety / Path resolution). Full matrix: <paths.engine>/rules/change-propagation.md. Tally: <paths.engine>/templates/audit-checklists.md.

Runs the propagation alignment pass so a change does not leave generated adapters, distribution bundles, version stamps, or user-facing docs behind. /midas-doctor covers adapter drift and install health; /midas-align adds the full matrix from change-propagation.md and a single gap report.

Detect context

Resolve --scope (default auto):

Signal Scope
scripts/test.mjs exists at repo root and mentions midas test engine (midas-harness contributor tree)
Otherwise product (installed Midas project)

Procedure

1. Inventory what changed

Read git diff --name-only (or the paths the user names). Map each file to row(s) in <paths.engine>/rules/change-propagation.md § Propagation matrix. List required downstream actions before running anything.

2. Run the alignment ladder

Engine repo (midas-harness):

npm run align
# equivalent: node scripts/render-adapters.mjs && npm run verify

verify = test.mjsbuild-plugin.mjsbuild-create.mjsdoctor.mjs.

If --fix and adapters drifted: node scripts/render-adapters.mjs then re-run npm run verify.

Product install:

  1. If <paths.engine>/conventions.md or <paths.engine>/rules/* changed → node <paths.scripts>/render-adapters.mjs or /midas-doctor --fix
  2. Always → node <paths.scripts>/doctor.mjs
  3. If product code changed → project test command (from architecture / AGENTS.md)
  4. If harness/VERSION or midas_version semantics changed → /midas-init (tips pinned update; not in-place hand edits)

3. Version cascade (when harness/VERSION or release is in scope)

Engine repo: must run npm run bump -- <X.Y.Z> (change-propagation.md — never hand-scatter pins). That writes harness/VERSION only; scripts/sync-version.mjs propagates mirrors (also runs at the start of npm run build). Then confirm:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
