midas-harness: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/midas-bundle/SKILL.md

midas-bundle is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from okuzpe/midas-harness. It costs 86 tokens per session (1,194 once invoked), scanned B, original, Apache-2.0.

A tool for exporting and importing Midas project knowledge as portable JSON files. Midas knowledge includes product context, architecture rules, playbooks, saved evidence, and configuration, rather than a full code backup.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to seed a new project, share architecture and playbooks, back up memory and configuration, or transfer selected tests and project evidence.
Why use it?
It lets teams share or restore selected project knowledge across repositories while keeping it separate from the source-code backup handled by version control.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is okuzpe/midas-harness's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on midas-harness itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything midas-harness configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00086 $0.01194
Opus 5 $0.00043 $0.00597
Sonnet 5 $0.00017 $0.00239
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00119

Security

Grade B, and why

midas-bundle scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Reads MCP configurationmediumAgent snooping

mcp.json carries server URLs and auth tokens; reading it lets a mod discover and abuse other integrations.

- Fails if `.mcp.json` contains literal secrets (only `${ENV_VAR}` allowed).

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 100 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

midas-bundle — export/import portable project knowledge (JSON)

Guard + state: <paths.engine>/templates/skill-state-ritual.md (+ AGENTS.md § Safety / Path resolution).

Paths: Read layout + paths from paths.state. Scripts = <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs. Full memory model: <paths.engine>/research/memory-model.md.

Exports or imports Midas knowledge (not a full code backup) as a versioned JSON bundle. Paths inside the bundle use stable logical coordinates for backward compatibility; import maps them through paths.*.

Profiles

Profile Use when
knowledge Share ideas, architecture, playbooks only
memory Seed a new project (product + stack rules; no state overwrite on merge)
full default — memory + frozen evidence + .mcp.json + enforcement configs
config tools/MCP/routing/enforcement only
tests full + *.test.* / *.spec.* under {product}/
recall Same path set as /midas-recall (~15 files)

Export

node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs export --profile memory -o midas-bundle.json
node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs export --only {product}/playbooks,{product}/conventions.md -o rules-pack.json
node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs export --profile full --include-tests -o full-plus-tests.json
  • Fails if .mcp.json contains literal secrets (only ${ENV_VAR} allowed).
  • Warns (non-blocking) if other bundled files match common secret patterns.
  • Rejects unknown --profile values.
  • Import verifies per-file sha256 checksums.

Import

Always dry-run first:

node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs import midas-bundle.json --dry-run
node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs import midas-bundle.json --merge
node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs import midas-bundle.json --replace # user confirmed only
node <paths.scripts>/bundle.mjs import midas-bundle.json --merge --replace-state # explicit PC copy
Flag Behaviour
--merge Write only paths that do not exist
--replace Overwrite existing files (confirm with user first)
--replace-state Always write paths.state when in the bundle — never use silently; gates are not re-run

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

midas-bundle is a skill published in the GitHub repository okuzpe/midas-harness (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 86 tokens to every session and 1,194 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads mcp configuration). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
