mcp-metro: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/readme-generator/SKILL.md

readme-generator is a skill for Claude Code from OlliMakarova/mcp-metro. It costs 121 tokens per session (4,032 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A README generator for fa-mcp-sdk MCP servers, which are services that provide tools and data to AI clients.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a landing-page README with screenshots, setup instructions, documentation links, tool details, and client configuration references.
Why use it?
It turns project details into a short showcase page while placing deeper instructions in separate documentation files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00121 $0.04032
Opus 5 $0.00060 $0.02016
Sonnet 5 $0.00024 $0.00806
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00403

Measured 10d ago against content hash 01ab3ef47737, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

readme-generator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 282 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

MCP Server README Generator

Generates a README.md and its readme-docs/*.md satellites for an MCP server built on fa-mcp-sdk. The main README is a showcase page: it hooks the reader with what the server can do and shows it working; deep technical detail is one click away — in a satellite file, or in one of the two collapsed reference sections at the end of the page.

Philosophy — showcase, not manual

Three reader roles, three destinations:

Reader Question Where it's answered
Visitor (30 seconds) What is this? Does it look alive? Hook paragraph, screenshots, feature bullets
Evaluator (5 minutes) Can I run it right now? "Try it in 60 seconds", "Connect your client"
Integrator / operator How exactly does X work? The Documentation table → readme-docs/*.md

Hard rule — no open reference material in the main README. No open parameter tables, no open client-config JSON, no config-key tables, no endpoint lists, no auth priority orders, no Quick Links block. Exactly two reference sections are allowed, both at the end of the page (after the Documentation table) and both collapsed into <details> blocks:

  • The tool, up close — parameters and answer contents, collapsed;
  • Connect your client — one collapsed config block per MCP client.

Everything else that wants a reference table or a second code fence belongs in a satellite. Target: the collapsed view of the README stays around one–two screens (~100 visible lines); the raw file is longer because of the collapsed content, and that is fine.

Tone. Punchy but factual. Lead every feature bullet with the benefit, use concrete numbers (languages, route variants, endpoints), and never invent superlatives — "blazingly fast" and friends are banned. "Answers within a second of starting, thanks to the disk cache" is the register to hit: a strong claim, backed by a mechanism.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
