share-html

share-html is a skill for Claude Code from ondrej-svec/heart-of-gold-toolkit. It costs 52 tokens per session (464 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A publishing tool for putting a local HTML file or static website on a configured share server and returning a browser URL. A static website is a set of files that can be opened without a server-side application.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to share an HTML report, visualization, mind map, or static-site folder on the same machine or through a private Tailscale network.
Why use it?
It removes the need to copy files between devices or find the right local address manually. It provides a repeatable way to view generated reports and previews.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00052 $0.00464
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00232
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00093
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

share-html scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/healthcheck.sh, scripts/publish.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

compatibility: Requires Bun, curl, zip, and Python 3. The share server must already be configured, or the user should run share-server-setup first.

What it actually says

Share HTML

Publish browser-viewable artifacts to the local share server.

Use this skill when

  • the user generated an HTML report, preview, or visualization and wants a stable URL
  • the user wants to open output in a browser on another device
  • the user wants a share flow that works across coding agents
  • another shared skill produced HTML as a derived artifact and now needs publication

Supported inputs

  • a single .html file
  • a directory containing index.html

Common producers include:

  • handcrafted HTML reports
  • static-site outputs
  • HTML mind maps or structured document previews generated from brainstorms, plans, or architecture docs

If the server is not configured yet, stop and run share-server-setup first.

Default workflow

  1. Verify health:
    bash scripts/healthcheck.sh

  2. Publish the artifact:
    bash scripts/publish.sh <path>

  3. Return the final URL to the user.

Available scripts

  • scripts/healthcheck.sh — check server config and health before publishing
  • scripts/publish.sh — publish a single HTML file or static site directory

Output expectations

The publish script prints structured JSON to stdout. Use the returned url as the primary browser URL. If both url and viewerUrl are present, prefer url when it is a tailnet/browser-facing URL.

Failure handling

  • Missing config → stop and use share-server-setup
  • Unhealthy server → surface the health error clearly
  • Unsupported artifact shape → explain the expected file/directory rules
  • Missing index.html in a directory → reject rather than guess

Files

What ships with it

4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

share-html is a skill published in the GitHub repository ondrej-svec/heart-of-gold-toolkit (19 stars, last pushed 22d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 52 tokens to every session and 464 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls).
