library-health-and-diagnostics

library-health-and-diagnostics is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ondrejmirtes/mcparr. It costs 131 tokens per session (551 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A diagnostic procedure for media-download systems such as Sonarr and Radarr, which automatically find and download TV shows and films. It checks application health, disk space, search sources, and download clients.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to investigate why nothing is downloading, why searches find no releases, why grabs fail, or why completed downloads are not imported. It reports problems but does not configure search sources in the web interface.
Why use it?
It helps identify whether failed downloads come from unavailable search sources, download services, missing folders, health errors, or insufficient storage. This avoids treating a configuration problem as a software failure.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00131 $0.00551
Opus 5 $0.00066 $0.00275
Sonnet 5 $0.00026 $0.00110
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00055

Security

Grade A, and why

library-health-and-diagnostics scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Health & diagnostics

Run sonarr_health / radarr_health first. It returns version, health-check messages, free disk space, and indexer + download-client status.

Read it in this order

  1. Health messages. type: error/warning items are the app telling you exactly what's wrong (e.g. "No indexers available", "Download client unavailable", "Root folder missing"). Address these first.
  2. Indexers. If there are zero indexers, or none have enabledInteractive/ enabledAutomatic, then searches will return nothing — that's the cause of "nothing downloads". Report it; MCPArr doesn't configure indexers (do that in the web UI).
  3. Download clients. If there are zero clients (or all disabled), grabs will fail even when a release is found. Report it.
  4. Disk space. Low/zero free space stops imports. Flag any volume under, say, a few GB free.

Mapping symptoms to causes

Symptom Likely cause What to tell the user
Search returns 0 releases for everything No/disabled indexers Configure/enable an indexer in the UI.
Releases found but grabs error No/disabled download client Configure/enable a client in the UI.
Downloads complete but never import Disk full / permissions / path Free space or fix the root folder.
"Is everything OK?" and all green Healthy Confirm version + free space succinctly.

Scope

MCPArr is for operating Sonarr/Radarr, not configuring their indexers/clients. When the fix is a configuration change, explain what to change and where, rather than attempting it through the API.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
