design-system-generator

design-system-generator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from OneWave-AI/claude-skills. It costs 30 tokens per session (326 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for creating a design system: shared visual rules, reusable interface components, and documentation. It includes design tokens, which are named values for things such as colors, fonts, spacing, shadows, and corner shapes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define tokens, connect them to CSS or Tailwind, build components such as buttons and inputs, and document the component library.
Why use it?
It reduces inconsistent styling across an application and gives developers a common foundation for building new screens.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00326
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00163
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00033

Security

Grade A, and why

design-system-generator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Design System Generator

Generate a token-driven design system: tokens, base components, build config, and documentation.

Contents

  • references/design-tokens.md — color, typography, spacing, shadow, and radius token files plus CSS variable setup.
  • references/components.md — Button, Input, Card implementations and the component barrel index.
  • references/config-and-utilities.md — Tailwind config and the cn class-merge helper.

Workflow

  1. Define design tokens. Create tokens/ with colors, typography, spacing, and effects (shadows, radii) per references/design-tokens.md. Replace the reference values with the project brand palette.
  2. Add CSS variables. Set up :root and .dark custom properties in globals.css using the variable block in references/design-tokens.md.
  3. Wire the build. Add the cn helper and extend the Tailwind theme from the token files following references/config-and-utilities.md.
  4. Build base components. Implement Button, Input, and Card from references/components.md, then extend the set as the product requires.
  5. Export a barrel. Re-export every shipped component from components/ui/index.ts (see references/components.md).
  6. Document usage and variants. For each component, note its variants, sizes, props, and accessibility behavior so consumers apply it consistently.
Files

What ships with it

3 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
