oo-api-ninjas

oo-api-ninjas is a skill for Claude Code from oomol-lab/skills. It costs 49 tokens per session (934 once invoked), scanned C, a copy of oo-17track, MIT.

A connector skill for searching and reading data in API Ninjas, an external API service. It runs API Ninjas actions through the oo command-line tool.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when an agent needs to look up or read information through API Ninjas.
Why use it?
It keeps the agent from needing to call the API directly or handle access tokens. It also provides the required action format before sending a request.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00049 $0.00934
Opus 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00374
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00187
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00093

Security

Grade C, and why

oo-api-ninjas scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 84 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

API Ninjas

Operate API Ninjas through your OOMOL-connected account. This skill calls the api_ninjas connector with the oo CLI; OOMOL injects credentials server-side, so you never handle raw tokens.

Running an action

Assume the user has already installed the oo CLI, signed in, and connected API Ninjas. Do not run oo auth login or open the connection URL proactively — just run the action. Fall back to First-time setup only when a command actually fails with an auth or connection error.

1. Inspect the contract to get the authoritative input/output schema before building a payload:

oo connector schema "api_ninjas" --action "<action_name>"

2. Run the action with a JSON payload that matches the input schema:

oo connector run "api_ninjas" --action "<action_name>" --data '<json>' --json
  • --data takes a JSON object string or @path/to/file.json; omit it to send {}.
  • The response is { "data": ..., "meta": { "executionId": "..." } }; the execution id lives under meta.executionId.

Each action is listed below with a one-line description; actions that change state carry a [write] or [destructive] tag. Before constructing --data, fetch the action's live schema with oo connector schema to get its authoritative input fields.

Available actions

  • air_quality — Fetch current air quality metrics for coordinates or a city-based lookup.
  • geocode — Convert a city name into geographic coordinates and country information.
  • reverse_geocode — Resolve latitude and longitude coordinates into place metadata.
  • timezone — Fetch timezone metadata by timezone name or premium location lookup fields.
  • weather — Fetch the current weather conditions for a set of coordinates.
  • weather_forecast — Fetch forecast weather readings for a set of coordinates.

Safety

  • Untagged actions are reads (get / list / search) — safe to run directly.
  • Actions tagged [write] change API Ninjas state — confirm the exact payload and effect with the user before running.
  • Actions tagged [destructive] remove or overwrite data — always confirm the target and get explicit approval first.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
