evo-docx-template-filler

evo-docx-template-filler is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from OpenLAIR/OpenSkill. It costs 75 tokens per session (680 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A utility for filling Microsoft Word template files (.docx) with values from JSON data. It keeps existing formatting, searches document sections such as tables, headers, footers, and text boxes, and supports optional content blocks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to generate populated contracts, reports, forms, or other Word files from structured data, including documents with tables and conditional sections.
Why use it?
It removes repetitive manual editing of Word documents and avoids losing formatting when placeholders are split across document elements.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00075 $0.00680
Opus 5 $0.00037 $0.00340
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00136
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

evo-docx-template-filler scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/utils.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

evo-docx-template-filler

Fill Word (.docx) templates with data from JSON, preserving formatting and handling conditionals.

Key Capabilities

  1. Split-run-aware replacement: Handles OOXML split runs where placeholders like {{NAME}} are fragmented across multiple XML runs
  2. Comprehensive container traversal: Body paragraphs, tables (nested), headers (default/first/even), footers, text boxes
  3. Conditional blocks: {{IF_KEY}}...{{END_IF_KEY}} - keeps content when condition is true (removes markers), removes entire block when false
  4. Format preservation: Replaces text at run level, never overwrites paragraph.text
  5. Safe deletion: Prevents OOXML corruption by not removing the last paragraph in table cells

Usage

import sys
sys.path.insert(0, "/app/environment/skills/evo-docx-template-filler/scripts")
from utils import (
    load_json_data,
    iter_all_paragraphs,
    replace_text_in_paragraph,
    process_conditional_blocks,
    delete_paragraph,
    apply_template_data
)

# One-liner to fill a template:
apply_template_data("template.docx", "data.json", "output.docx")

# Or step by step:
from docx import Document
import json

doc = Document("template.docx")
data = load_json_data("data.json")
process_conditional_blocks(doc, data)
for para in iter_all_paragraphs(doc):
    for key, value in data.items():
        if not key.startswith("IF_"):
            replace_text_in_paragraph(para, "{{" + key + "}}", str(value))
doc.save("output.docx")

Functions

  • load_json_data(filepath) - Load JSON data file
  • iter_all_paragraphs(doc) - Generator yielding all paragraphs from body, tables, headers, footers, text boxes
  • replace_text_in_paragraph(paragraph, search_text, replace_text) - Split-run-aware text replacement
  • process_conditional_blocks(doc, data) - Handle IF/END_IF blocks (inline and multi-paragraph)
  • delete_paragraph(paragraph) - Safe paragraph deletion with table cell protection
  • apply_template_data(template_path, json_path, output_path) - Main orchestration function

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
