pluxx-prepare-context

pluxx-prepare-context is a skill for Codex from orchidautomation/pluxx. It costs 26 tokens per session (274 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for collecting website pages, product documentation, and local files into an inspectable Pluxx context pack. This gives later refinement work more information about the product.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to ingest source material, inspect the generated context files, and choose the next refinement workflow.
Why use it?
An automatically generated plugin may lack enough product knowledge to create accurate skill groups and instructions. Preparing context fills that gap without claiming to improve the plugin by itself.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present.

Good fit Use it to ingest source material, inspect the generated context files, and choose the next refinement workflow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00026 $0.00274
Opus 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00110
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

pluxx-prepare-context scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Pluxx Prepare Context

Use this skill when the user wants better semantic refinement because the default MCP scaffold does not yet have enough product context.

Workflow

  1. Identify the context sources:
    • website URL
    • docs URL
    • local context files
  2. Run:
    • pluxx agent prepare
    • include --website, --docs, --context, and provider flags when they matter
  3. Summarize the written artifacts:
    • .pluxx/sources.json
    • .pluxx/docs-context.json
    • .pluxx/agent/context.md
  4. Recommend the next best pass:
    • pluxx-refine-taxonomy
    • pluxx-rewrite-instructions
    • pluxx-review-scaffold

Rules

  • Keep sourced context deterministic and inspectable.
  • Do not pretend ingestion itself improved the scaffold; it prepares the refinement inputs.
  • Call out when the ingested sources still look weak or noisy.

Output

  • Tell the user what was ingested.
  • Point to the context artifacts that now exist.
  • Recommend the next semantic workflow.
Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
