telegram-talk

telegram-talk is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from our-ark/enoch. It costs 0 tokens per session (775 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Telegram connection for an AI coding agent, allowing it to receive messages and, when authorised, work on a repository through one locked chat.

In plain words
What is it for?
It supports read-only conversations, authorised local code changes, relevant tests, memory requests, and requested GitHub work such as commits, pull requests, approvals, and merges.
Why use it?
It lets the human communicate with the agent from Telegram while restricting code changes and GitHub actions to approved requests in a specific chat.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00775
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00387
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00155
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00077

Security

Grade A, and why

telegram-talk scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Telegram Talk

Purpose

Use this skill when Enoch should talk with the human through Telegram.

The reusable our-ark-telegram library owns Telegram transport. This skill is a thin Enoch integration manifest; channel-neutral commands, tasks, evolution, sessions, and authorization live in enoch.app and are shared by every chat provider.

For JPEG, PNG, and WebP image messages, use the inherited telegram-vision skill and keep the image turn read-only.

Boundary

Plain Telegram messages use Enoch's read-only brain path unless Enoch's model classifies the intent as a repository edit, approved direct action, memory request, ancestor adoption, or GitHub publishing action.

For natural repository requests, Enoch may:

  • read the current long-term memory and startup context;
  • keep work in the persistent Codex session for the locked Telegram chat;
  • refuse code-changing or GitHub work unless Telegram is locked to one chat;
  • implement the requested change locally when authorized;
  • run relevant tests or doctor when practical;
  • coordinate commit, push, PR creation, approval, or merge only when the human asks for that action.

For ancestor commands, Enoch may:

  • read .agent/lineage.yaml for the direct parent;
  • recursively resolve ancestor lineage through GitHub;
  • scan parent or ancestor PR history for candidate changes;
  • inspect, ignore, or ask Enoch to adapt a selected candidate through the persistent Codex session.

Do not treat ordinary chat messages as approval to mutate code unless they clearly request repository work.

Configuration

Prefer Enoch's local runtime config:

telegram:
  bot_token: "..."
  allowed_chat_id: 123456789
  poll_timeout: 30
codex:
  model: "gpt-5.6-terra"
  reasoning_effort: "medium"
task:
  timeout_seconds: 600

.enoch/config.yaml is local and gitignored.

Environment variables can override local config:

  • ENOCH_TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN
  • ENOCH_TELEGRAM_ALLOWED_CHAT_ID
  • ENOCH_TELEGRAM_POLL_TIMEOUT
  • ENOCH_CODEX_MODEL
  • ENOCH_CODEX_REASONING_EFFORT
  • ENOCH_CODEX_BIN
  • ENOCH_PROGRESS_INTERVAL

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

telegram-talk is a skill published in the GitHub repository our-ark/enoch (19 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 775 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
