Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00053 $0.00689
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00345
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00138
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00069

Security

Grade A, and why

docs-canvas scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Contract

Field Bound contract
Trigger Render a set of documentation (file, directory, or URL) as an interactive, navigable HTML canvas artifact.
Authority Reversible local writes for the single output HTML artifact in the working directory. Read-only access to local files or network fetch for URLs.
Side effect Creates one self-contained HTML canvas artifact under the working directory.
Done One self-contained, navigable HTML file at the stated path containing the structured overview, rendered sections, and a combined sources index.

Inputs

Required: a documentation source. A file path, a directory path, or a URL that is readable from the working directory or reachable over the network.

Optional: a preferred output filename (default docs-canvas.html) and a section-grouping hint.

Procedure

  1. Fetch or traverse the documentation source to extract text. For a single file, read it directly. For a directory, walk the tree and read every text-readable file (markdown, HTML, plain text), skipping binary and non-document files. For a URL, fetch the page content. Stop if the source is unreadable or unreachable. Done when: raw text is extracted from every readable source file or page.

  2. Parse the extracted text into an ordered hierarchy of document titles and section headings. For each document, extract the title and every heading in source order. When two headings produce the same anchor, disambiguate by appending a numeric suffix. Done when: titles and headings are extracted in source order with unique anchors.

  3. Extract source references and build a combined index. Collect every citation, link, and attribution discovered across all documents. Build an index mapping each reference to its source document and location. Done when: the combined sources index is built.

  4. Render the content as a single HTML artifact with an interactive table of contents. Produce one section per heading, preserving the source text without paraphrase or invented content. The table of contents links each entry to its section anchor. Done when: every heading has a rendered section and every TOC entry links to its anchor.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
