outlit-sdk: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/brainstorming/SKILL.md

brainstorming is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from OutlitAI/outlit-sdk. It costs 31 tokens per session (433 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A planning method for creative implementation work, such as changing features, interfaces, content, or behavior. It first checks whether the task is clear, small, reversible, and low risk.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before building or changing software features and other user-facing or workflow-related parts of a project.
Why use it?
It helps decide when direct implementation is enough and when a larger design process is needed because the task has uncertainty, trade-offs, or wider effects.

This is OutlitAI/outlit-sdk's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on outlit-sdk itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything outlit-sdk configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00433
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00217
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00087
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

brainstorming scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (scripts/helper.js, scripts/server.cjs, scripts/start-server.sh, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Brainstorming

Use this skill to resolve design decisions that affect the requested outcome. First inspect the relevant code, requirements, and existing decisions.

Choose the necessary depth

  • Proceed with implementation when the intended behavior and constraints are clear and remaining choices are routine and reversible. File count or a behavior change alone does not require a design approval loop.
  • For substantial work, write a scaled design covering the actual contracts, failure modes, verification, and rollout. Reuse an approved spec or existing plan rather than generating another.
  • Ask focused questions only for unresolved decisions that materially change product behavior, scope, compatibility, data handling, security, cost, or rollback. Discover file locations and existing conventions yourself.
  • Offer alternatives when there is a real trade-off. Do not manufacture multiple designs for an already specified outcome.
  • Continue independent authorized work while a necessary answer is pending. Do not perform a dependent action until its required decision or approval is available.

Authorization and handoff

The user's request and prior decisions establish the authorized scope. Do not ask for the same approval twice, and do not infer permission for unrelated external actions. Repository-specific security, data, and release requirements remain in force.

Save a design in the repository's established location when it will help implementation or future review. Use writing-plans when sequencing needs a durable implementation plan and that skill is available. For an implementation request, continue through implementation and relevant verification after resolving the design. For a design-only request, deliver the design and stop at that requested boundary.

Before handoff, check scope, unresolved assumptions, and the evidence needed for completion. If an instruction prevents progress, identify its exact file and requirement rather than attributing the stop vaguely to the skill.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

brainstorming is a skill published in the GitHub repository OutlitAI/outlit-sdk (6 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 433 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
