async-company-research

async-company-research is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from outscraper/outscraper-mcp-server. It costs 65 tokens per session (379 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow guide for handling company-research jobs that may take time to finish. Outscraper is a service with tools for company details, contacts, map searches, and AI scraping; asynchronous means submitting work and checking its status later.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to submit supported Outscraper research jobs, record their request IDs, poll for completion, and summarize the final results.
Why use it?
It prevents an agent from treating an unfinished research request as complete and explains how to track the request until it finishes or fails.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.00379
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00189
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00076
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00038

Security

Grade A, and why

async-company-research scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Async Company Research

Use this skill when the upstream task may not finish immediately and the workflow should explicitly handle request ids.

Workflow

  1. Choose the target tool.
  2. Submit with execution_mode: "async".
  3. Capture the returned request_id.
  4. Poll with requests_get.
  5. Once complete, summarize the final payload.

Tools This Skill Pairs Well With

  • company_insights
  • emails_and_contacts
  • google_maps_search
  • ai_scraper

Canonical Pattern

Step 1. Submit

Example with company_insights:

{
  "query": ["outscraper.com", "stripe.com", "notion.so"],
  "fields": ["name", "description", "industry", "employees"],
  "execution_mode": "async"
}

Step 2. Poll

Use requests_get:

{
  "request_id": "REQUEST_ID_FROM_STEP_1"
}

Repeat until the job is complete or fails.

Behavior Rules

  • Tell the user when an async job has been submitted.
  • Do not pretend a pending request is complete.
  • If the tool returns a completed response directly, summarize it immediately.
  • If the job is still pending, say so clearly and give the request id.

Output Style

When complete, produce:

  • the key result
  • the business interpretation
  • any missing or partial data that the user should know about
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

async-company-research is a skill published in the GitHub repository outscraper/outscraper-mcp-server (3 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 379 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
