Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade A, and why
oxy-agents scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 319 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Oxy agents (.agentic.yml)
An Oxy agent is one YAML file, <name>.agentic.yml. It configures a fixed
pipeline that turns a natural-language question into a grounded query against
the semantic model, runs it, checks the result and explains it. You configure
the pipeline. You do not define its states or its tools.
There is one kind of agent
.agentic.ymlis the agent. The classic.agent.ymlformat (a single LLM call with custom tools) has been removed. Do not create one, and do not copy one from an old workspace.- There is no
kind:field. Every.agentic.ymlruns the same analytics pipeline. A file namedapp_builder.agentic.ymlis not special. Generating.app.ymldata apps, views or agent files is the in-product Builder Agent (chat Build mode), and no.agentic.ymlconfigures it. - Automations are a different file. Deterministic multi-step work is an
automation,
.automation.yml(.procedure.ymlstill works)..workflow.ymlis no longer recognised at all. An agent can run an automation it finds in its context. It cannot be one. - Instruction-only agents skip the pipeline. A file with
instructions:and nodatabases:,context:orstates:is answered with one LLM call and queries nothing. Add any of those three and you get the full pipeline.
Use an agent for conversational questions over data that has a semantic
model. Use a verified query (a .sql file with an oxy: header, below)
when one question must always get exactly the same SQL. Use an automation
when the steps are fixed and need no LLM to choose between them.
Minimal file
llm:
ref: claude # a `name:` under config.yml `models:`
context:
- ./semantics/**/*.view.yml
- ./semantics/**/*.topic.yml
That is enough when the views declare a datasource. The agent can query
every database its context references. The full annotated file is
templates/agentic-template.yml.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

oxy-agents is a skill published in the GitHub repository oxy-hq/oxygen (203 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 182 tokens to every session and 4,161 once invoked, about $0.0007 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-16.
