pandadoc-invoice-handoff

pandadoc-invoice-handoff is a skill for Claude Code from PandaDoc/mcp-server-guide. It costs 65 tokens per session (2,199 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow that finds signed PandaDoc quotes or proposals that have not yet been invoiced and creates matching invoices from a template. An invoice is a request for payment for goods or services.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to turn completed quotes into invoices after deciding how the system will identify quotes already invoiced.
Why use it?
It reduces manual copying from a completed quote, while requiring a separate method to avoid invoicing the same quote twice. It runs as a sweep because there are no event notifications.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.02199
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.00880
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00440
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00220

Security

Grade A, and why

pandadoc-invoice-handoff scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

PandaDoc Quote → Invoice Handoff

Find quotes that have been signed, build the matching invoice, send it.

Two structural facts shape this: there are no webhooks, so this is a sweep rather than a trigger; and nothing marks a quote as invoiced, so you have to establish that yourself or you will double-invoice.

Prerequisites

The PandaDoc MCP Server must be connected. Required tools: documents_list, documents_details_get, templates_list, templates_details_get, documents_create, documents_status_get, documents_update, documents_send. If they are missing, say so and point at https://mcp.pandadoc.com.

An invoice template must exist in the workspace, with a pricing table (not a Quote block) in the quote's currency. The reference account has two "invoice"-named templates and neither qualifies: one's pricing block is a Quote, not a table (the exact trap Step 4 describes), and the other returns an API error on every read. So the create-and-verify path (Steps 5–6) remains untested end to end against a real template; the sweep, exclusion, and refusal steps are not affected.

No trigger, no marker

No webhooks. "On completion, generate the invoice" cannot be event-driven through the MCP. Run this on a schedule or on demand, and treat it as a sweep over recently completed quotes.

No invoiced flag. PandaDoc does not record that a quote has been invoiced. Before creating anything you must decide how you will know, and use the same method every run. Options, best first:

  1. Tag the source quote after invoicing — documents carry tags, settable via documents_update. A tag like invoiced is durable, visible in the UI, and survives across runs. This is the recommended approach.
  2. Name convention on the invoice, e.g. Invoice - <quote name>, then search for it before creating. Works, but depends on documents_search full text, which is fuzzy and eventually consistent.
  3. Ask the user each time. Safe but does not scale to a scheduled sweep.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pandadoc-invoice-handoff is a skill published in the GitHub repository PandaDoc/mcp-server-guide (2 stars, last pushed 8d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 2,199 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-16.
