ui-design

ui-design is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from PanPanFR/oh-my-kilo. It costs 94 tokens per session (2,159 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of design guidance for the visual parts of websites and mobile apps, including layouts, colors, fonts, interactions, and accessibility.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building or reviewing pages and components such as landing pages, dashboards, forms, tables, navigation, animations, dark mode, or responsive layouts.
Why use it?
It helps avoid interfaces that are confusing, inconsistent, hard to use, or difficult to use on different screen sizes.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00094 $0.02159
Opus 5 $0.00047 $0.01079
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00432
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00216

Security

Grade A, and why

ui-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

UI Design

Comprehensive design guidance for web and mobile applications.

When to Apply

Must Use

  • Designing new pages (Landing Page, Dashboard, Admin, SaaS, Mobile App)
  • Creating or refactoring UI components (buttons, modals, forms, tables, charts, etc.)
  • Choosing color schemes, typography systems, spacing standards, or layout systems
  • Reviewing UI code for user experience, accessibility, or visual consistency
  • Implementing navigation structures, animations, or responsive behavior
  • Making product-level design decisions (style, information hierarchy, brand expression)
  • Improving perceived quality, clarity, or usability of interfaces

Skip

  • Pure backend logic development
  • Only involving API or database design
  • Performance optimization unrelated to the interface
  • Infrastructure or DevOps work
  • Non-visual scripts or automation tasks

Decision criteria: If the task will change how a feature looks, feels, moves, or is interacted with, this skill should be used.

Design Principles

Ground it in the subject

Pin down what the product or subject is: name one concrete subject, its audience, and the page's single job. The subject's own world, its materials, instruments, artifacts, and vernacular, is where distinctive choices come from.

Typography carries personality

Pair the display and body faces deliberately. Set a clear type scale with intentional weights, widths, and spacing. Make the type treatment itself a memorable part of the design.

Structure is information

Structural devices, numbering, eyebrows, dividers, labels, should encode something true about the content, not decorate it.

Leverage motion deliberately

Think about where and if animation can serve the subject. An orchestrated moment usually lands harder than scattered effects.

Restraint and self-critique

Spend your boldness in one place. Let the signature element be the one memorable thing, keep everything around it quiet and disciplined.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
