Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00159 | $0.02670 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00079 | $0.01335 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00032 | $0.00534 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00267 |
Grade A, and why
bird-fortune-political-satire scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 179 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Establishment Political Satire
Mindset
The comedy works because sincere, articulate self-justification by a powerful character is funnier and more damning than any external mockery — the character must never realise they have said anything absurd, or the satire collapses into simple insult.
When to Use
Only use this skill when the request calls for an original two-hander, interview, briefing, or consultation-style satirical scene — not for a single joke, a monologue, or real-person mimicry.
- The user wants an original two-hander sketch: an interviewer questioning a minister, executive, regulator, or spokesperson about a policy failure, scandal, or unpopular decision.
- The user wants a "briefing scene" or "consultation" dialogue where an official explains an indefensible position using formal, evasive language.
- The user wants a faux-serious news-interview parody built around class pretension or institutional privilege.
- The user explicitly references the Bird & Fortune / Bremner, Bird and Fortune tradition and wants NEW material in that comedic register, not a transcript of the original.
When NOT to Use
- The user asks you to reproduce, quote, or closely paraphrase an actual Bird & Fortune sketch, or any other real programme's dialogue — decline and offer an original piece instead.
- The user wants a quick one-liner, pun, or single joke with no dialogue frame.
- The user wants slapstick, absurdist, or surreal comedy that is not built around an institutional interview or hypocrisy.
- The user wants a sincere op-ed, policy briefing, or genuinely persuasive argument rather than a comic one.
- The user wants impersonation of a real, currently-serving public figure's actual voice or mannerisms rather than an invented establishment type.
Workflow
Work through these steps in order when drafting a new sketch; you MUST complete step 8 before treating any draft as finished.
- Pick the institutional role and frame. Decide who the establishment character represents (minister, regulator, bank executive, spokesperson) and whether the scene is a formal interview, a briefing, or a consultation.
- Set the register before writing a line of dialogue. The character should sound confident, polished, and circumlocutory — never crude, never uncertain.
- Seed the concealed weakness. Decide what the real (weak, contradictory, selfish, or absurd) reason for the character's position is. The audience should be able to infer it before the character admits it.
- Write the interviewer's opening questions as apparently innocent. They should invite the character to explain themselves in ways that start to expose the contradiction.
- Escalate slowly. Let each follow-up question dig the character slightly deeper while they sincerely believe they are demonstrating competence. Favour sustained escalation over rapid-fire jokes — you can stretch a single evasive theme across several exchanges rather than introducing a new gag each line.
- Reach for euphemism, not plain statement. Wherever the character would have to say something obviously absurd, have them describe it in refined or bureaucratic terms instead, and let the contrast do the comic work.
- Land the ending. Close on a revealing admission, an elegant self-contradiction, or a calmly stated absurdity — either works; pick whichever the escalation has been building toward.
- Check the piece against the anti-patterns below before treating it as finished — in particular, confirm the character never becomes self-aware and no line reproduces existing programme material.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

bird-fortune-political-satire is a skill published in the GitHub repository pantheon-org/tekhne (10 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 159 tokens to every session and 2,670 once invoked, about $0.0008 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
