drin-k8s-pod-troubleshooter

drin-k8s-pod-troubleshooter is a skill for Claude Code from pedrol-cmd/brain-drin. It costs 29 tokens per session (188 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A step-by-step guide for finding why Kubernetes pods fail, including crashes and pods that remain waiting. Kubernetes is a system for running and managing containers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to diagnose failing pods, check resource and configuration problems, investigate crashed containers, and document the applied fix.
Why use it?
It gives you a repeatable way to inspect pod status, events, logs, and the running environment instead of guessing. It also records the cause, fix, and prevention steps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00188
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00094
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00038
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00019

Measured 9d ago against content hash 6d7d9b78ca76, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

drin-k8s-pod-troubleshooter scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

K8s Pod Troubleshooter

Purpose

To minimize downtime by rapidly identifying and fixing container orchestration issues.

Diagnostic Steps

  1. Status Check: kubectl get pods - identify the failure state.
  2. Describe: kubectl describe pod [name] - check events and resource limits.
  3. Logs: kubectl logs [name] --previous - see why the container crashed.
  4. Shell: If pod is running, kubectl exec to check environment and connectivity.
  5. Fix: Update deployment manifest or configmaps based on findings.

Output

A ROOT-CAUSE-REPORT.md with the fix applied and prevention steps.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
